Default trying to learn about autos

I'm looking into selling my M6 and getting another car and theres a possibility i'd go with an A4 this time. I dont know much about them but i've been searching and got a little info. If i got an auto, i'd eventually swap it out for a built auto of some kind. a stall lets you hold the footbrake and hit the gas and the rpms rise to the stall rpm of the converter, right? what about when you do burnouts, the tires wouldn't start spinning until after the stall rpm? what about if the rpms drop below the stall rpm while you were burning out, would the tires stop spinning? and is a trans brake just like a clutch? hold it, rev it and dump it? I've gotten broad answers from searching and i'd just like to get some direct answers. thanks!

I have a measly 200rwhp wih a newly built trans and converter (L67 rwd) and the converter makes a huge difference. When I line lock it and stall it up, it spins heaps easier. It starts spinning b4 the set stall speed. I think this is due to the stallie reacting to the extra load and making more power due to more resistance.

An auto can be real good fun. The only draw back is if you want to do track days/drifts, it doesn't give you the control that a manual with clever clutch work gets you. That being said, in a straight line I couldn't see an M6 shifting nearly as quick as a built A4 and on the street it is just so much more practical IMHO.
