I guess all i want to know is should i go with a 2.75 1st gear and use a brake or will i be ok with the brake and the 2.48 1st gear? Is there any converter out there that would give me close to best of both worlds?
I'm a bit surprised you're not 60' better with the setup you have....
just for example:
I have a 4000 stall, 1.86 STR, and 3.73s
on 255-50-16 BF DRs I've managed a few low 1.6 60', although most of the time I do get low 1.7s, but still....
what's the STR of the converter you have? I realize you have a taller first gear, but I would assume your rear-end gears would help make up for any sluggishness caused by them....
that's a good question
I would assume that with a transbrake you could stall it as high as you want, but when you let go you're still not gonna have more stall...
personally, I'd like to get the stall I want....but I know time and $$ are not free, so maybe you can make it work.
good luck
Alex
PS: When are you, Bobby, and I gonna go dead-stop??
