TH400 1.8x 60fts????

TH400 1.8x 60fts???? Setup is below. Is this normal to have these kinda 60ft times with this setup? I plan on going with a T brake and nitrous but it just feels like a dog out of the hole on motor... I have been running constant 7.7x times @ 91.8 -92.5 depending on the 60ftwith 1.8-1.9 sixty foots foot braking it to about 2500... the best it has ever seen was a 1.74 on a 26 inch tall tire not spinning at all.. and the car is about 3550+

Ford 9"
- 4.10 gears
- 35 spline axles
- Spool
- 28 inch tall et drags
Engine
- 224/230 581/570 112lsa
- FLP long tubes
- base tune
- stock heads with a little cleanup
I guess all i want to know is should i go with a 2.75 1st gear and use a brake or will i be ok with the brake and the 2.48 1st gear? Is there any converter out there that would give me close to best of both worlds? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I'm a bit surprised you're not 60' better with the setup you have....
just for example:
I have a 4000 stall, 1.86 STR, and 3.73s
on 255-50-16 BF DRs I've managed a few low 1.6 60', although most of the time I do get low 1.7s, but still....
what's the STR of the converter you have? I realize you have a taller first gear, but I would assume your rear-end gears would help make up for any sluggishness caused by them....

I called TCI and they told me what to look for... i found 3049k on the front in small numbers... and i started to scratch my head..... then i found 241001 on that same side... its a 3000-3400 stall not a 3500-3800 like i was told....... If i get a trans brake can i stall it above the flash point? I guess what im asking is can i take it to 4000 or so and hit the button?

that's a good question
I would assume that with a transbrake you could stall it as high as you want, but when you let go you're still not gonna have more stall...
personally, I'd like to get the stall I want....but I know time and $$ are not free, so maybe you can make it work.
