Default What Trans Do I Have 4L60 Or 4L60E???

I have a 96 LT1 Z28. Does it have a 4L60 or a 4L60E trans?

It came from the factory with a 4L60E.

That I know of all 4l60's are E's the non E is a 700r4, the 4L60E is basically just an electronically operated 700R4.

93 does not have the 4L60E it the 4L60/700R4. 94 TO 97 had the 4L60E however the 94 is different in that it did not have PWM thats 95 up.

If you look at a 1993 700R4 and a 1994 4L60E you're going to see the same basic transmission except for the electronics.
Thats why they later changed the 700R4 name to 4L60 and the new electronic shifted one 4L60E.

I know the 83 vettes are pretty rare. I had one. I also had a 69 VW bettle with the factory aluminum radiator(rarer).

i heard the E has dimples in the tranny pan to allow room for the solenoids.
