94 A4 slipping going into 2nd gear...HELP
As the title says, the A4 slips when going into second with anymore than minimal throttle. It also will slip once into second if you give it anything more than about 1/3 throttle or if in 3rd or 4th and kicks down to second when you hit it hard. All other gears seem to be fine in all driving situations.
I am assuming this is the worst case where I have to get a new transmission, but thought I would ask the experts 1st!! The car had a computer tune about a month ago, and everything seems fine with that, but is it possible that the tranny tune could have brought on my current problem?
Also pretty new to GM's, this is a 4L60E transmission, correct?

Its unlikely the tune was the issue , It is more likely the 2-4 band its glazed or just worn out

What's your transmission fluid like, and how many miles? My tranny was intermittently shifting a bit softer than normal going into 2nd gear, checked the fluid and it was a little more than a 1/2 quart low. Added more fluid, and it's all good again.
Then again, it may be too late depending on how many miles are on your tranny.
