tranny problems
tranny problems I have been trying to help my buddy get his car fixed. He bought the car and it wouldn't shift at wot unless he let off the gas. We new the car has had some gears in it but don't know what. I was hoping it was a tuning problem. I tuned it and ran great for that day but the next day it started not shifting for him. I kept working with the tune and it did not get better so I put the original tune back in it. Now it won't shift out of first until 3100 rpms. I think he needs a trans but I don't know if there is anything electrical wrong with the tranny. Any info will help, thanks!
You need to verify if the trans is getting the command from the computer to shift. Also if the computer does not have the correct tire size and rear end ratio, this will effect the shifting of the transmission. Vince
The car was should of had 3.73s in it. We tuned for that and then 3.42,3.23. None of it made any differance in the way the tranny shifted. I need to get a scan tool to check to see if the tranny are getting the signal. I have HP tuners but I don't have much experience with tuning on trannys since I have a th400. I don't belive I can check what the tranny is doing with HP?
