Default Torque converter install problem, need help!!

Hey, got a quick question. We did a torque converter install. Everything is done, but car wont move forward or backward when its in gear. Trans fluid is topped off. Driveshaft turns. We did a test and took disconnected tranny coolant lines and no fluid flows??

We need some help/input. Not sure what's wrong? Any input would be appreciated please, thanks!

Sounds like you might have broken the pump?

What was your flexplate to converter gap measurement? Did you shim the converter any? Did you hear 3 "engagements" when installing the converter, or did you measure the bellhousing to converter distance?

Eh, not sure on that..you'll have to ask around the sponsors, or your local transmission shops.

Won't be cheap.

I'm guessing this thread was started about your car?

Did you do any of the measurements I talked about in my first post?

Did the converter engage the pump before you bolted the trans to the motor? Because if it didn't and you bolted the trans down and forced it, you just hurt alot of stuff.

Got lucky finding one so close/quick and a good price!

Did you check out the old transmission? did you do any measuring/shimming installing the converter in your new trans?

Busted the pump. Common problem with newbs. FWIW, it costs about $50 to rebuild the pump. If you can drop a tranny, you can rebuild a pump imo.
