Finish Line Transmissions (FLT) Big Sale With New Policies

That is a hard question to answer because of the different power levels you guy's run. In most cases the obvious one is when you have a problem with the trans. The other would be if you have your car down for a while, upgrading the motor or what not, send it in while you are not using the car. We have customers that will send them in under these conditions or it's the end of their racing season and they know that it's time because of their power level. We have customers pushing these units well beyond their limitations (800 RWHP) and in some cases it is just time. Vince

Sorry just getting a chance to check in on this thread however I did return a PM that you had sent me. In most every case a filter can be obtained from a local part store or the dealer. The only time I have ran into a problem getting a filter from the parts store is when a late truck pan has been used. IIRC it is the pan that does not use a drain plug and was produced after 2004. Hope this helps. Vince

Thanks FLT!! I picked up my level 5 4l65e and my 3600vig 3disc from FLT on friday night. I received it earlier than originally promised.I installed it Saturday morning and everything went perfect. The trans shifts perfect, cools perfectly, and just feels alot smoother than my previous built a4.
I drove it to Union Grove saturday afternoon to watch the races. So it has about 150 break in miles so far and is performing great!!
Thanks again,Vince,Chuck,Andy.

Good to hear Alex. We were there after 5:00 Saturday sorry I missed you. We had a little BBQ going on near the backside of the pits. I as usual brought way to much food. I think it was about 2am when we finally pulled out. I will order that valve for you today. Give us a call Tomorrow. Vince

Sorry we do not offer a level 2 currently. Years ago we did offer one but it came with used electronics, used separator plate, and used internal wiring harness along with other parts that I feel need to be upgraded in a quality unit. IMO it was not the way we wanted to build our transmissions. We install many new parts that others do not install in their builds and our quality and reputation proves it. We do currently have our level 3 build on sale for $1485 if that helps any. Feel free to give us a call to discuss your situation. Vince

You forgot to add their additional cost for the bell housing & tail housing you have to pay for, $125.00 for the bell housing & who knows how much for the LS1 F-body tail housing. Our units come complete with bell & tail housings!
So I think you should recheck your total cost if your comparing apples to apples here!

Got back from the Memphis LSX Shoot Out ( I ran LSX Shoot Out 9.50 Index). Lots of pictures and videos on www.lsxtv.com. My FLT 4L60E made 8 passes flawlessly at this event. You can watch rounds 1 & 2 where I won. Notice in round one where my slicks broke loose at the 1/2 shift and my car moves around a bit NOW THATS A TRANNY! I went out in round 3 running a 9.489 on a 9.50 index!! I got out of it when my front bumper was at his front bumper and I took the stripe. I should have gotten out of it when my front bumber was at his door but at 142 MPH its a bit hard to judge. It was a GREAT event so THANKS FLT for the tranny. Now that the season is over I'll see if the "Barbie Vette" will go 9.20's or 30's in good weather. The Memphis weather was humid and about 80's all week. The one time I was able to run in the morning I ran a 5.99 1/8th mile (quickest ever for me) but I had to lift at 6300 RPM in 3rd gear so I don't know what the "run through" time would have been!

I have a question.
Have you had any A6 build ups and what type of power/rpm can they handle?
I have a 2006 Corvette with the A6 trans,3200 vigilanti converter and stock 2.56 gears. Looking to beef it up and for it to handle 6800+ rpms on the shifts, plus firmer shifts, increasing line pressure. I am going through the 1/4 in 3rd and running 11.1`s at 124-125mph. I like to track the car so i am looking to make it STRONG.
I have a thread started here https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/1002812-any-shops-building-strong-a6-s.html
Thanks for your time,

"The problem with this unit is that currently the trans controls itself. The transmission control module is apart of the transmission and as far as I know there is absolutely no way to control it or change the parameters of the TCM. The TCM only sends signals to the VCM and the VCM makes changes depending on what the trans does or at least this is the info I have received to the best of my knowledge."
I currently have not built any of these units but I am looking to get my hands on one to see what can be done to the internals. The main issue I have is what I posted in your thread. If you would like for me to do some R & D for you and feel like being my test project, I would be willing to give it a shot. Vince

Any time. Let us know about doing the trans if you are interested.
Thanks for the update JR. Sucks breaking out but thats racing. Glad to hear you had a good trip. I heard that you were spotted in Byron this weekend. How did you do? I think its time to turn up the boost! Vince
