You guys can down-play the results if you want, but facts are facts. Fact is, TCS has no real way of knowing what the "actual" stall torque ratios are of their converters, nor the true efficiencies. I'm not here to throw rocks at TCS. There are plenty of people running fast with them. I just have a problem with any company making false claims about their products with no way of backing them up. Many people buy based on who gives them the best performance (on paper) for the money. If a company inflates their performance on paper to gain sales, the customer loses in the end.

I don't like any companies making false claims either. If it found to be true without a doubt, I will be pretty upset that the converter I have isn't what it is supposed to be. Do you have any way of knowing for sure though that TCS doesn't have a way of rating their TCs accurately?

I'm sure TCS can get the stall speeds in the right neighborhood, but there are only a few performance converter manufacturers with the financial resourses to be able to accurately test and rate STRs and Efficiencies (TCS is not one of them, neither is Mid-West). I'm a bigger fan of buying what the fast guys are winning with. If that's a TCS converter, then buy it.

Patrick,i hope your wrong but if your right then were all screwed...literaly because derek has left TCS .

As far as testing the TCS converter goes and if derek was telling me the truth then not everyone fits in the same boat as far as GMs results because of the fact that some of the converters were setup different,or supposed to have been. Mine was supposed to be one of only 3 TCS4400 setup the way it is and was in testing because of a new stator and the effeciancy was bumped up more than the usual claimed 98%. If Yank wants they can send me a YTP4400 and i'll send them my TCS 4400 widow maker for testing and compare the two???? Will Yank take that offer...i doubt it! So i guess the only way i will know is to pay $1,000.00 for a TP 4400 and test it and HOPE i gain more than just MPH. Who knows though, now that derek is no longer with TCS i just might switch for a YTP 4400 then i can compare them.

Here is my rundown of the converter world of LS1 cars and i might just **** some people off but right now it makes me mad to see it all happen this way in my eyes.

TCS: I gained .2/1 MPH from my old Vig 3200 with my TCS 4400 but now im worried about a warrenty since derek has left and im no longer a test car for them.

Vigilante: There good, tough converters but lack effeciancy and shift extentions that i want.

TCI: Same boat as the Vigilante but i have been told and seen bad stories told about how they don't perform like they should and problems internaly with the converters.

Yank: You got to be rich or have a credit card to afford one of their converters, along with bad customer service. I called Yank up and talked to mike about a TP 4200 before i bought my TCS and from his tone he could care less if i bought his converter or not because he was thinking of pulling out of the LS1 cars or just building the YTP converters for them only. I have also heard and seen a local car snap the ears of the converter and ruin the tranny by just doing HWY speed going from one side of town to the other.

Right now im going to wait out the flood on TCS and see how it performs when it gets cooler and base my decision then. If i don't like the results then i am going to have to get a loan and by a YTP 4400 because that is the only converter right now that will run as good as what i have.

So, I'm guessing since Derek is gone, the whole deal with free restalls is gone?

supposively someone else is the owner now, I will try to get more info on that probably tomorrow. But I am in 100% agreement with everything StreetStalker said.
