350TH Issues, any tranny experts? HELP!!!
350TH Issues, any tranny experts? HELP!!! Heres what I got, 98Z w/ 350TH with reverse valve body and trans brake. Heres the issue, went to the track tonight made first pass on motor off foot brake everything worked perfect, went to the pits, got ready for next pass a N20 pass, started car put it in neutral (this valve body requires you to activate the T/B for reverse) so I activated it to back up nothing, then I put it in first and ran through the gears car would not move, acts as if it is in neutral/park. Linkage works fine, it goes into park, I dont understand it. I am going to put a guage on it to see if there is tranny fluid pressure while running, this would eleminate the front pump I beleve, If the input shaft broke I dont think I could tell untill I pulled the tranny, but whats funny is it drove fine to the pits no issues. ANY input would be highly appreciated, pulling this out is going to be a pain in the ***. Thank you

If I put a pressure guage on the tranny while it is running it should NOT have pressure if the pump is out correct? Do you guys do TH350 for the LS1's or could you rebuild this one if I sent it to you? And approx.how much, I have been told buy the previous owner (build sheet)it already has a hardend shaft, aftermarket sprag, and drum. Thanx.

You dont really even have to hook up a pressure gauge yu can just unhook a cooler like and start car to make that determination

generally if the two tangs are broken of its either and installation error or converter spacing error still and install error though and have never heard of that shop .

Funny though that tranny has been in that car since 2003, with many track passes, N20 passes, It was built as a Pump Gas drag car. Then all of a sudden they brake off, Oh well I will have it totally rebuilt even better, do they harded pump gears?

Well its possible its just a freak pump failure stuff does happen. You should really not need hardened gears they are hardened to start with. Maybe just a fluke
