Vigi and Tranny help?
Vigi and Tranny help? I have a 02 Trans am with 167,XXX miles and I want better time at the track and better launches, so I want to install a vigi 3600 stall.. but dont knoe if it will mest up the Tranny or my rear. Would be a better idea to get a new tranny with the vigi or just intall the converter with a cooler? Dont want to replace the rear yet also.
wow thats a crap load of miles you got there. Would really be a crap shoot for you as to whats going to last and what components are going to let go. I would think that the rear would be last to go, you can always put a ta(rear dif cover) on it to strengthen it up a bit. As for the trans its anyones guess when its going to go as with the motor, your main issue is going to be how many miles you have on it.. Up to you want you want to do and if you plan on keeping the car for a long while.. I would seriously think about getting a built trans, hell the stock one has to come out to do the converter swap, only thing for you might be the cash, if you have it then that would be a good time to do the whole trans upgrade and be done with it..
With that number of miles even stock with no converter change I would consider myself lucky in a Performance car . Dont sound like its been beat on much in all those miles

well this is actually my second tranny.. first one broke at about 80K and dealer warranty replaced new one so it has about 80K now... rear end was also replaced and it has about 80K aswell..so what should I do?.. How much will it be for a tranny that can hold about 500hp-600hp with a 3600 stall? Im planning on running a cam later and some spray.
