My Performabuilt Trans Well it been 5 months of 1/4 mile flogging and some street usage and I am thrilled to report that the Race level II 4L60E that Frank built for me has been awesome. Street manners require some tuning with the help of HPTuners but at the track this is the fastest shifting transmission I've ever owned. I've been complimented at the track for my level of shifting. You should see the surprised looks I get when I tell them its a Performabuilt 4L60E.

I was a lurker for many months. There are several other builders on this site that have great reps as well however I was impressed with the level of advice and explanation that was offered by Frank. Knock on wood I have not had any problems so far but I am 100% confident that if I did Performabuilt will handle it professionally and get it resolved.

I got mine in the mail today, converter comes tomorrow. Damn shipper might have dropped it. But ****, Frank was there to talk to me AND my dad at 8pm at night. Hopefully the courier didn't **** up my trans or I'll **** up their face.

All the foam that surrounds the transmision inside the plastic shipping container will have absorbed alot of shock from any mis-handling IMO
Hell, I cut and chiseled that crap to get the trans out of the box.
You'll be fine don't worry. Be happy.

I have said it before, you cannot go wrong with a Performabuilt lvl II. I have yet to run it at the track but it gets its workout in my DD. My LT1 will never do any damage to it but it is nice to know that I wont have to worry about it.
I dont have a performabuilt,but would not hesitate to get one...I happen to have one from a non vendor..Well during a dyno run my tourque arm and driveshaft let go(dont know which first) and it took out my tailshaft/input shaft..I made a post about it and Frank offered help and assured me that the company I bought it from would help me out,and which they did..Point is, it was not his tranny and he still offered to help and said nothing but positive things about the one I had and the company I bought it from..I'm gonna continue modding and thinking of going F/I and may step up to a 4l80e and Frank will get a call
