Well I need some expert advice on my transmission.
I've just had it rebuild and its not acting right. I think it might be the PCM but im not sure.
When im driving through town just crusin it shifts fine, but when I got WOT is when the transmission starts acting up. It won't shift! It will just stay at the rev limiter. In order for me to get it to shift I have to play with the gas(lay off, then get back on it, lay off, then get back on it) and then it will finally shift. And even when it does shift the shifts aren't hard and firm. It feels like it takes a few seconds for the transmission to kick it. You don't feel it start to pull right away.
This transmision is really startin to be a pain in my ***. I was planning on purchasing one from one of the sponsors on here but i don't want to buy one and then it just end up being that my computer needs to be tuned.
When i first purchased the car all the mods in my sig were done to it. and the transmission had already lost 3rd and 4th so im not sure if it acted like that before the rebuild or not.
Thanks for yalls help

Well the first thing I would do is watch the data and see if the shifts being commanded. Also do you know if the PCM was ever tuned for the stall ?

This exact same thing happened to me when i had my trans rebuilt. I had all internals and the torque converter replaced also with a stage III shift kit installed.....I was bouncing like crazy off of the rev limiter at wide open throttle. I had to take it back 3 or four times before they finally got it right. Turns out that the shift kit was letting in too much fluid and it was flooding the shift sylonoid.....so they added a plug and drilled it out to the specified size to stop flooding works perfect now........just an idea......~Chris

well i just talked to the guy that i bought my trans am from
heres what he said he did to the transmission tune
"as for trans tuning all i had done was to get the shift points adjusted, and some tuning done for the aftermarket converter lockup and line pressures for harder shifting at certain throttle position.... mainly at WOT, and also it was set to kick down quicker into passing gear when you lay into it"
could that be why the trans is acting up??

If you did not change the converter stall or make any power mods since the tune was last done then all should be the same after the new trans

but see heres the thing, when i got the got it hadn't been driven on the new tune yet...and soon after i got the car 3/4 went out in the trans...its been not stop problems since then....
i've put a trans from you guys (performabuilt) on layaway....when i get the trans i don't wanna mess it because my car has a shitty tune on it...should i return the tune to stock??

You will need to get the trans then have a reputable tuner redo the tune .and set your shift points up to suit the converter.
