Changing transmission fluid...

Changing transmission fluid... So i want to change my tranny fluid in the near future.
I have a few questions.
Does anyone have a write-up?
How many quarts of fluid will i need?
What kind of fluid should i use exactly...i've been hearing not so great things about the syntechs in these trannies.
And, what is the easiest way to get the fluid into the tranny? Does anyone know of some sort of pump or something i can use besides the small hand pumps you attach to the quart containers, i have one of those and it's a sloooooow process.

Re: Changing transmission fluid... Ughh, lets see i always buy 7 qts and i think i use almost all of it. I use a funnel that has a big can ontop and a long hose that fits in the dipstick tube nicely and a close or open valve on it also.
I dont use syns either. just Mobil or whomever ATF meeting Dextron III.

Re: Changing transmission fluid... 5 qts even with a pan drop / filter change, unless you have installed a deep pan.
My funnel -just- fits into the dipstick tube for the refill.
Be aware there is a round gasket that fits over the tube on the filter that may remain in place after you pull the filter out. If it does, you can very carefully work an awl between the gasket and the trans and collapse it inward and pull it out with some needlenose pliers.
To reinstall the new gasket, get a socket that matches the opening (can't remember the size) and use it to tap the new one in place.
