Default TCI 3000,3500 guys in here please.

So is Colonel the only one pulling low 1.6 60's with his TCI? The best I have been able to get is a 1.69, but mostly low 1.7's I would like to hear from others. What 60's are you pulling(N/A)?

I have the smaller converter 2800/3000 for about 2 1/2 years now in 2 different cars , I can only pull low 1.8s 60ft with 273s. But This converter on the spray is great, no traction till 2nd gear 1.9s 60ft. LOL

Wow that's a nice set-up 2 more questions for you. What was the weather like or (DA)? Could you give me a run down of your time slip to compare with?

Bain, when comparing my 60ft to others, keep in mind the power I'm making. My trap speed was 113 MPH which is alot higher than some of the other people I see running this converter. Also keep in mind that the slightest bit of tire spin kills your 60ft. When I pulled low 1.6s, I didn't spin at all.

Do'nt know what the DA was on any particular run,but that was back early in the year. The one day I can remember for sure was back in Febuary at Steele International Dragway. It was a overcast day and the temps were probably in the 50s(?).I remember the air was pretty good though.Best run that day was 7.76 1/8 & 12.19 1/4 I beleive.I've only ran my car on the ETs on two occasions this year, once in Feb & once in March.I have the times saved on a spreadsheet in my home computer.I'll look tonight and let you know tommorow what the exact ET & MPHs were.I like the times my car will run in the 1/8,but feel the 1/4 is a little slow. The car when I first got it was a pig.The first time I ran it,dead stock, was a 9.23 1/8 in good weather, with NO tire spin.

Colonel: I know your car is making 350+ rwhp in an auto I'm not trying to cause any disbelief. Just trying to figure mine out. BTW my trap speeds corrected are 111(320-330hp range) and your pulling 113mph(350+hp). Do 02's have that much more hp? Where does it come from?
IMKMFAST: Thanks for your help. Your et's & mph on your runs would help me out a lot I'm trying to make it to the 11's SI.

Oh, it's cool. I didn't think you were trying to cause disbelief. I was just trying to help you understand why you don't see more of these converters pulling my times.

If you'll give me a complete listing of your mods and raceweight, I'll try to help you hunt down your missing MPH compared to mine (it dynoed 359 with the converter locked and through the cuttout, btw.) 111 MPH is still very good for a bolt-on car! The difference in our MPHs may well have been density altitude. I don't know what mine was that day but it was pretty good.

...Yes, there's a noticable difference between the 00s and the 01s and newer. With my '00 and bolt-ons I did trap 115.6 MPH but this was with 3.90 gears, skinnies up front, a 4600 stall, and it was about 250 pounds lighter. I think this '02 could trap 119 MPH in that condition.

Ok Colonel here are my mods:
2000 Camaro SS A4
MODS:
Engine: No internal, ASP Pulley, NGK TR-6's
Computer: Diablo Predator
Induction: K&N, Direct-Flo Lid, smooth bellows, FTRA
Exhaust: 1 3/4" Jet-Hot LT's, 3" ORY-pipe, 3" Cut-out, 3" Borla cat-bak
Trans: TCI SSF 3500, B&M trans cooler
Suspension: ES poly trans mout, BMR LCA's w/ relocation brackets,
DMS lowering springs,
Wheels & Tires: 35th Aniv. SS wheels, 17x9 w/275/40/17 Nitto 555's(front),
17x11(widened) w/315/30/17 Nitto DR's(rear)
Weight: 3500(car only)
I'm only trapping 108.7mph w/DA of 1779'. Corrected to 0' DA it should run 111mph.
Do you think there is anything to gain going to 3.73 gears? Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

IMKMFAST: Thanks for your times they do help me out. Also I saw you have 3.73 gears and a 3500. Do you think the 3.73's helped out your 60's and your et? On the wheels, I had Wheels America in(Dallas,TX) widen them for me.

I did'nt make it to the track while the car still had 3.23s & the stall.I'm more of a "time slip" racer.I usually just run the car on test & tune nights.I drive it every day,so I do'nt want to beat on it too much. When I do take to the track I only run it maybe 3-4 times.
I really do'nt think there is much difference in the 3.23/3.73 thing though.I raced I friend of mine one night at the track and we had the same mods at the time, only diff. was the gears. She had a 02 T/A 'vert w/3.73 & mine had 3.23s.The diff. in our runs was 0.01.The main reason I put 3.73s in mine was because alot of my driving around town is on roads that have speed limits of about 40-50mph.The 3.73 have a nice down shift kick about 50-55,with the 3.23s is was more like 65.On the interstate with either gear you can usually get the kick you want if somebody pulls up on you. With the 3.73s the kick is much better a lower speeds. If half a fender is all you need to call it a win, you'll get it quicker w/3.73s

I need to quit messing with my ET streets and step up to a real tire. 1.58 60 ft with the tires spinning several turns off the line. Sometimes they spin LOTS, causing high 1.6 60 ft times the wheel spin is so bad. I wonder with a dead hook and ~200 pounds weight reduction, you think I could sneak below 1.5?
