Possible job opportunities at Tick Performance in Mooresville NC
Business is booming like never before here at Tick so we're looking to hire one or possibly two new employees to handle the massive work load. Applicants should come by the shop to discuss the position with resume in hand. References are required and must be relevant. Experience with SBC and LS based engines and vehicles and/or Tremec transmissions is a must. Pay will vary depending on experience level.
We're located at 106 Performance Rd, Mooresville NC 28115. Mooresville is just 30 minutes north of Charlotte. Call 704-660-5843 to verify I'm available before dropping by.
Position one duties/requirements: Auto Technician
This position would require experience with late model GM vehicles. Everyday tasks would include performance part installs such as headers, superchargers, clutches, engines, etc. Fabrication and welding experience including mig and tig is a plus but not required. Engine assembly experience is also a plus.
Position two: Sales/Technical Support
This position would require in-depth knowledge of product availability and fitment for late model GM vehicles. Applicant must have good communication skills and a positive attitude. Parts sales and knowledge of our website is required, however the primary duties would be answering technical support calls. We can recieve upwards of 30 tech calls per day with tons more that go un-answered as we are simply too busy to take every call. Tech calls will range from product fitment and installation questions to indepth clutch/hydraulic theory and issues. The majority of questions will be dealing with our line of adjustable master cylinders. We can train applicants and provide technical data on our product line, however prior knowledge of basic parts installations and product fittment of other brands that we're dealers for will be required. Since this is primarily a Tech support position, real world mechanical experience is required. When not answering tech calls job duties would include adding product to our website. Application specific knowledge is required on the parts, however no prior knowledge on web design is necessary. Basic computer and internet skills is a must.
Position three: Manual Transmission Tech
We specialize in Tremec transmissions here at Tick, primarily T56 and TR6060 transmissions. We do a huge volume of t56 rebuilds currently and would like to expand our mail order offerings to include other Tremec Transmissions such as the t5, 3550, TKO's, 3650, etc. With current demand we can hardly keep up with the t56 rebuids alone. Duties would include transmission tear down, inspection, cleaning, and reassembly to performance specification. We can train, however basic knowledge and theory of manual transmissions is a must. Any manual transmission experience is a plus.
Position four: Automatic Transmission Tech
This is something that we haven't offered, but is something I would like to offer. This is certainly not a position we need to fill, however if the right person came along it is something I am considering. Experience with GM transmissions specifically is what we are looking for. From powerglides to 6L80E transmissions, we want to offer multiple levels of rebuilds that can handle anything from mild to wild in terms of hp and tq. Since we have almost zero experience with automatics, the applicant must prove that they know automatics inside and out. The best way to do this will be to provide vehicles and their owners as references to what they are capable of.
With all positions offered, more experience equals better pay. Employees will recieve one weeks paid vacation after one year. Insurance will be provided after three months. Currently all positions are for Full Time. Employees will recieve 40 hours per week working from 9am to 6pm with a one hour lunch break. Real world expamples of experience and workmanship are the best resume possible, so if you have a car you've built show it to us! With the launch of our new site: www.tickperformance.com and new products being added every day, we are looking foward to our best year ever. We're all car guys/racers and we love what we do.
