Yes... I was commenting on the "$6,000 less" comment, not the fact that the 370Z is a little more expensive. But again, some people might cross-shop them but they really are two different cars in two different segments.

As always, the new Z remains a present day, "sports car-lite."
It (Fairlady) once competed against much higher-tier sports cars... This 370Z still does not, although there are noteworthy improvements over the 350Z.
It either falls short of REAL sports cars, Vette, 911, etc... I know it is cheaper, I know, so it doesn't compete with them...
... Or then it just bullies cars like the Mustang in pretty biased tests... I didn't need to read the comparo to know the 370Z would be a higher performing road car...
IDK, it's hard to see where this car fits, but then that's probably exactly why it sells very well... It kind of stands alone.

I do like the 370Z and if I were in the market for a car in that price range right now AND if the U.S. auto industry as a whole were in great shape/running strong/profitable then I'd possibly even consider one while looking at the Camaro SS, Challenger V8s and Mustang GT.
But GM/Chrysler/Ford need my money more right now (and I really do like V8s

) so I would absolutely choose to give it to one of them before any other car company.

The "Z-car" has been a hallmark car since the 60s.
So was my Integra... Mustangs still aren't sports cars. Neither are F-bodys and Challengers. There are tons of cars that get that designation from insurance companies and automotive press that don't deserve it.
