Considering the LT5 wasn't designed and put into a car until 1990 this guy is a fraud.

Edit: Wow, actually GMHTP did an article on this bad boy when I googled it, so if they believe it, it must be true. Makes one wonder why it took so long to get into the Vette though.

It is true, that car is not a fake. I saw that exact car in person back in late 2001 when GM was show casing the 2002 LE SS cars at local Chevrolet dealers. That car was a former GM show car, many of them start life as test/fleet vehicles. A lot end up being scrapped at the end of their lives, but a few get picked up by GMPP or various other divisions and get built up as one off cars using stuff from the GM parts bin. Either to show off new parts or to take to promotional events. Those wheels are 91-92 Firehawks and judging by the paint scheme that car was built in the very early 90s. It really isn't so much ugly as it is dated. They also built a yellow 91-92 RS with a ram jet 350 and a ZF6 trans, it was built much later, I want to say late 90s/early 00s when the ram jet crate motors hit parts shelves. GM High tech did an article on that car as well.

Really all it needs is a color change. Paint it one color...even stick with the pearl white (Cadillac Diamond Pearl would work i think)...just make it all one color. Paint the wheel centers flat black, and put black leather with white inserts in the interior, and you've got a kickass ride.

Still not worth $100k though.

I'll say this, when they decide to sell that 1986 Caprice with the 600hp BMW V12, i'll be trying to find a large amount of cash really fast.

READ if you're going to comment. It says right on his ebay page that the car was a base camaro but in 1991, they plucked an LT5 off of the assembly line and converted the car. It said the camaro has 7000+ miles but only 200 since the conversion.

I would love this car if it was all one color with different rims ans interior, but you cant alter a car like this so whats the point?

I read title and then posted, I didn't even read the ad until after my first post. Which is why I threw in the the edit and the link. I did google it though just to see if there was anything else out there besides the GMHTP article.

Very cool car. It has the german 6 speed from the vette as well.

That engine bay looks beautiful, i've wanted more pictures of this since they talked about it in gmhtp or camaro performers or w/e magazine it was.

Why aren't they Firehawk wheels? Remember, there were Firehawks before the overpriced sticker package 4th gens..

Just in general, what can be done with an LT5? With 4 cams its definitely a unique engine and for 1991 375HP is staggering its like our current Z06 for that era. Still a very cool engine, just wondering what people have done with them. Ima search

The paint is part of what makes it special. It dates it to a time and place when things were much simpler.

They most certainly are Firehawk wheels. More specifically the Ronal R15, but since that is what the Firehawk used - the only true Firehawk, not the 4th gen crap, they can be considered Firehawk wheels.
