I asked my neighbor who used to be a gogo dancer and now her kids a gogo dancer what they thought of me getting a corvette last year and they said that they associate those cars with Pedophiles... ![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
It's just the opinion of two women, but still, that's not what I want to be associated with!

The C6 is one of the best sports cars on the market.... period. It's also one of the best values based on performance.
The frount fasica may be getting a bit dated at this point.... maybe time for a new frount end update.... but otherwise it is still a very good looking car.

Yeah I was going to say, why is this still being debated? The guy is wrong, period end of story.
I dunno what the dude's problem is but at this point in the Corvette's life, it is essentially a FACT that the Corvette is awesome. We can debate about what cars are as good or better, but you can't really make a claim against the Vette anymore. It has definitely earned it's place among the greatest autos in history.

I'm surprised the Corvette is now over $100,000, I never really saw it as that fast or that expensive a car. I think it's a pretty cool car though to be honest and I wouldn't mind having one

In my opinion the C6 is the best looking Corvette to ever be built. It is a top performer. I don't see a C6 in 15 years being looked at like most people do a C4 today.

I hope you understand that only the ZR1 is over $100,000. It is fast, and also inexpensive compared to it's competition. A coworker just bought a 3lt 2009 Corvette brand new for 44k. Deals can be easily had, and you get a lot of car for that much money. I just can't understand how people think it is over priced.

Base price C3 (1982) Vette: $18.2k 2009 price: $39k
Base price C4 (1996) Vette: $38k. 2009 price: $51k
Base price C6 (2009) Vette: $48.5K 1996 price: $35k
Aside from the straight pricing the Corvette was even MORE expensive back in the day if you factor in inflation. Ive never understood the "common man car" arguement when it talks about how "cheap" a Corvette was.

I just dismiss the entire article as the ramblings of a fool. No matter how popular the car is, or how great it ranks in it's respective catagories, there will always be someone that doesn't like it. Just so happens that this fool has a by-line to his name.

Then, let's start comparing the 'vette to whatever other sports car you could get instead. Dollar for dollar performance is not even close. Name one car that you could get for the price that could even come close to Corvette performance.
Stying? - Porsche has had the EXACT SAME look for 60 years. Every car in their lineup looks like they either smashed, stretched or lifted a 911. Does anyone in that company have an imagination?
What a tool!

That article was so pointless. First of all most of the people I know are not striving to get an Infiniti or BMW right out of college. In the area I live I see BMW's and Infiniti's all day long. They are the the new "soccer mom" rides. There is nothing wrong with wanting a luxury car, a lot of them are very nice, very comfortable and very expensive. But most guys know the difference between a V8 rwd sports car, and a whatever engine heavy luxury boat. He mention's that the new generation would consider a Porsche 911. Well the design of 911's really does not change much from model years because it is a classic design which people recognize. It's not a bad thing to have a slightly evolving but stay true to your style car. People like that. He complain's about the new Grand Sport being a poser corvette. Has he seen mustangs of the last 8 years? So many special editions I couldn't keep track. (No offense mustangs guys, I like stangs, I'm just trying to make a point here).Clearly this guy is to smart for his own good, he took a modest career in writing when based off of his unrivaled intelect and understanding of vehicle marketing, he should be at the top of one of the mentioned car manufacturer's. Although if he worked for GM he would have to look at those hideous corvette's all the time. Sucks to suck dude.

The current generation of Corvettes is the best ever, even your "lowly" base coupe with the LS3 puts to absolute shame high performance Corvette models of years and generation past. I do see his point of the Corvette not having the same appeal to yuppie buyers as it once did but I believe that's been lost since the mid 90s.
