Oh yeah so heavy. Compared to what? A Camry?
2010 Dodge Charger R/T 4031lbs
http://www.dodge.com/hostc/vsmc/vehi...Code=CUD201004
BMW 550i 4343lbs
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...fications.aspx
Mercedes Benz E550 4034lbs 4145lbs w/awd
http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicl...-E/model-E550W
Hyudai Genesis 4.6 4012lbs

Sometimes you have to read past biased magazine editors with agendas.
Seems to me the Charger isn't that heavy after all.

Seems to me that you weren't paying attention. I didn't say that there weren't other cars that were heavier... I said it was heavy. And it is. Is the Camaro "not that heavy after all" just because the GT-R is a pinch heavier? No. It's still a heavy car.

Seems to me your back peddling.
Heavy is relative and to quote you " but they are still just SOO heavy.". Heavy compared to a MGB, yes. Heavy compared to similar vehicles in its class, no.
The "it's so heavy" agruement gets old the 10,000th time you heard it. Especially when it is regurgitated from some fanboi's mouth that only knows what he reads in a magazine. The new Camaro is on the heavy side compared to other cars in its class, but the topic was the new Charger not the Camaro. And like any true fanboi there is always a mention of the GTR to be found.

If you think I'm any kind of "fanboi," you must not pay much attention to anything... The Charger is TOO HEAVY to me. That is what is called a personal opinion. I don't drive 4,000lb cars at this point in my life. Which means the Charger, or anything else in its class. Which the BMW 550i and Mercedes E550 are NOT in, by the way. You're like an automotive conspiracy theorist or something. Believe it or not, some people have valid and educated opinions, and don't just regurgitate what they read/hear.

^^This is true^^ "but they are still just SOO heavy"
^^This is neither.^^
I pay attention to everyones opinion and usually respect it even if I disagree with it. I just have a low tolerance for unfounded B.S.

I consider my car heavy. And its lighter then the SS, which is lighter then the charger. Very heavy car. And it drives like a very heavy car.

I don't understand the complaining about weight of large, fullsized cars. Cars weigh what they weigh today. If you don't like it you could always buy a Kia, Fiesta or used Lotus Elise.

Well I agree with Irunelevens, the charger is too heavy, just like the new Camaro is too heavy. I find it appalling that a 425hp charger or challenger is unable to hit high 12s bone stock with that kinda hp. Dodge knows that there too heavy, thats why there stuffing in a larger 6.4 liter hemi to compensate. If GM is smart the'll give the SS a much needed bump in power as well.

I'm w/ Irunelevens on this. 4,000lbs is too heavy any way you slice it. My dad's 2010 Mustang is on the upper end of vehicle weight that I feel comfortable driving. Now it could just be that I'm used to light cars, my Saturn weighs just a hair over 2,400lbs, but heavy cars are not very fun to drive. I don't like the way they feel like they're lumbering around and changing velocity feels like such an endeavor.

ill step up for saturn. My mom has a sky redline. the sky redline is pretty quick for what it is. I think stock sky redline for stock f body, it'll give it a run for it's money. I mean it's no car I'd personally buy. Its got great looks, but a cramped interior, and you better not try to take it on an overnight trip anywhere.

Since this thread is about large 4 door rear wheel drive cars, why don't you complainers give us some examples of the same that weigh significantly less........
To me the G8 GT and GXP were the best cars in this segment. Then GM went and killed Pontiac

Yea they were the best cars but sold the worst, seems to be the story with a lot of GM products.
