There will always be something faster and better it is just how progress works. Hell im sure at some point GM or Dodge will up there V6 Camaro and Challenger to compete if Ford sells a crap load of the new Mustangs. Its just how things work in the car biz. Ford makes a damn good car right now. I just prefer GM any day over any other brand. For the record Mustangs have always been slow its about time they steped there game up a little without putting an SC on it.

I'm not trying to start anything, so don't take it wrong, but you want something with V8 power?? Why, when you can get the same power you have without it being a V8. What's the difference where the power comes from? 300 HP is 300 HP, whether it comes form a V8 or an I4 Turbo. I just don't get the logic. You're paying for sound and worse gas mileage in my opinion.

not to be a ***....but why do you insist on comparing apples and oranges? we all have a right to our opinion....but i dont why know why you just didnt buy a 2005 monte carlo ss supercharged v6...so answer this...if gm produced a 2012 z06 with a v6 making 505hp...same hp as the v8 thts in there now....do you think the vette lovers will say..."505hp is 505hp"???????????
That being said, I didn't buy a '05 SS/SC because I don't care for the body style or interior. The basic style is the same, which I like, but the front, rear, and interior were much approved, in my opinion, in '06. Plus, 240 Hp/280 lb-ft is not 303 Hp/323 lb-ft. Pretty big difference there. I didn't buy my car for gas mileage, but if it was better that would have been great.
If GM did make a V6 Z06, Corvette lovers and purists would hate it, but that's them. However, 505 Hp is still 505 Hp (in the same car), and I think it would be pretty bad ***.

i think theres no replacement for displacement. a bigger motor shouldnt have to work as hard to make more power per cubic inch, and i personally wouldnt want to buy a v6 muscle car. just my thoughts on it.

im trying to understand a few things...personally im happy for ford to produce a "decent" v6 mustang....cause if look into the history of top of the line v6 mustangs....compared to the top of the line gm coupes "grand prix gtp/gtx" "monte carlo ss supercharged" it was night and day on the winner of the race...when the mustang gt was up against a trans am and camaro z28...we all know who got raped....now when pontiac released the top model firehawk and chevrolet brought out the camaro ss.....ford said, ****...motor to motor we dont have a chance...so lets supercharged the 4.6 and see what happen....they took over.....the 03-04 cobra is the only reason i even respect mustangs. somebody please correct me if im wrong!

More displacement does not inherently mean worse gas mileage. Ask a 2000 LS1 car that can easily get 28mpg+ with some reporting over 30mpg on the highway, whileas the 4.6 liter Mustang GT made 260hp and got worse mileage doing it. Why is the just under 300hp EVO IX only rated at 18/24? You can't just say smaller engine = more fuel efficient vehicle.
