Yeah i'm not a fan of the appearance of this car either, but the engine sounds great to me.

Also, no way this thing will sell for anywhere near $36k. That would seriously undermine the GT's sales.

But the Z28 won't compete with this car, so it doesn't matter...

There are people who would pay more to have a regular GT, just because of the options that you can get. Think of the GTS (or 248a, depending on year) Mustang (94-98)... less weight, more performance... but people want their power windows/locks, just like they want their Bluetooth and IPod connections.

Agreed. Should have brought back the ZL1 to compete with the GT500 and the Z/28 to compete with the BOSS. Too late now I guess.

Looks horrible.

Love the new 'Stang GT's looks, but I'd never drive one of those.

It already has: the Transformer edition.

The car itself isn't horrible looking. The paint job is just a tad ostentatious. Or maybe I'm just old.

<<25 and the black one looks horrible. Too overdone. The lip spoiler and less (although still very) aggressive front air dam on the orange one looks much better. The deleted fog lights look cheap to me. Why not just a flush grill?

I thought the deleted foglights were remade into brake cooling ducts? I'm not 100% on that but I'm rather sure thats why you can still see the circles.

I do agree that the black with the colored trimming is a little too weird. But I'm waiting to see pics of the Performance White with the black trimming. THAT would be my choice.

Yes the fog lights spot serve as brake cooling ducts. If you look at the pic on the previous page you can see the blue duct work leading to the brakes.

Yea its kind of like the camaro SS' little duct on the hood....except functional...and with a performance benefit.

If GM can pull off the Camaro switching over to the Alpha chassis by late 2012 as the 2013 model it will be back in the fight. This chassis should allow the Camaro to lose a few hundred lbs. at minimum, couple that with a more powerful LS5, possibly a 6.0 version (as opposed to the 5.5) and a solid suspension set-up the Camaro will be back at the top of the mountain.

^^^ I'd be in line to put my deposit on one if they could pull that off.

Also, the blown Z-28 can still go after the GT500 as planned.

I don't see how that will be any different than the LSX GTO, which was a muscle car Holden made out of the Cadillac Catera sedan.

2012 is right around the corner too and I find it odd we haven't even seen spy photos of any Alpha prototypes running around.

they are only going to make 7000 of them. ford wont care about pricing like chevy. the 2001 bullitt ,03-04 mach1, etc are examples. ford does what it does, without caring about a particular segment "getting its toes stepped on". chevy has to watch out for vette owners.
