well, the gains Ford made are lost. i guess changing to chinese made parts for cost are killing them.
im not inhappy with my 2011GT exactly, but this is why i want nothing to do with any other ford. i bought this one because of the engine. mine's in the shop for the clutch pressure plate bolts backing out.

i bought a brand new 2011 Ford Expedition Limited. the first 2 weeks, it was in the shop for 9 days because it had a faulty tailgate sensor. that being said, i picked it over a tahoe/yukon because the expedition's interior was nicer and more comfortable. i also love the microsoft sync feature and i felt i was getting more for my money.

Seeing Ford with 2 segment winners(large car, full size trucks) makes me think something they're producing is having multiple problems. Seems they brought out several redesigned models in the past yr or so.

http://www.jdpower.com/news/pressrel...spx?ID=2011089 <~ According to that, Lucerne ranks 2nd (behind Taurus) in initial quality for 2011 "large car" segment.

I wonder what is dragging them down.

Get used to that part. Anything "American" will only become more and more Chinese as we seem determined to help them become the world's power economy. Perhaps European carmakers will resist and continue to use quality parts, but we almost certainly will not... Certainly Japanese makers I imagine will not use Chinese parts, due to long running national/ethnic rivalries...

Ford has some serious quality glitches with their new products from the well-documented Mustang manual transmission snafu to issues with the Powershift transmission in the Fiesta. The MyTouch system is also a headache. People don't want to sit for 40 minutes to learn how to adjust the A/C in their car when in every other one you get a button or a **** that's self explanatory to do the same thing.
