All he said was that info was already posted...

But kettle, meet pot with the Mustang nut swinging in both threads about the 5th gen in this section

I love the HP wars, just not the high prices attached. I'd rock either car in a heartbeat.

i admit i like GM. i respect ford for coming out with a 5.0 NA motor that has a drag race friendly setup at a great price.

but for the most part their FI applications while they make killer power are to expensive imo.

while a zl1 will give GM and its followers bragging rights it also is out of range for me and alot of buyers.

I wouldn't be so sure on the braggin rights. I am sure the specs of the 2013 gt500 will be out before the ZL1 even goes on sale, and it does have the 2300 TVS

Wow, that is sick. As a package, the ZL1 doesn't seem like such a bad deal considering all the upgrades is has. MUCH more than an SS with a blower.

What do you know, almost 4,200lbs like I have been saying since the car was announced. Looks good though, and I am sure it will perform well... Just not my cup of tea

Wish it could weigh a couple hundred less. But oh well, should still be a killer performer.

300more lbs and 30 more hp than a 2012 GT500. The camro will have a better launch than the GT500 due to a better traction control system, but the gt500 will still be faster. However, with the 2013 GT500, the power pendulunm swings the other way, as it will have ~30 more hp than the ZL1, and also a similar launch control system to what is currently used on the Boss.

I predict a solid market for CF body pieces to shed weight. I wonder how much one can be stripped to lose a few hundred pounds?

First off, you said 'GT.' As for your question, an automatic ZL1 has a good chance of being quicker than the current GT500. The six speeds will probably be very close. The advantages the GT500 should have are basically every other performance aspect. As of right now, we are looking at a 300lb difference.

ohhhhhhhhhhh i made a mistake. ill edit though it obvious what i meant.

soooooooo a zl1 wont have more power and torque and a launch and traction advantage?

but its funny how youve already admitted a zl1 will be quicker.
