So far the best magazine time was 11.6 IIRC, and 129 is the highest trap. I look forward to seeing what this beast can do in negative DA, 130+ traps out of a bone stock $55k car with a full warranty is insane!!

i find it funny that this "unbiased" writer calls the shelby a rolling pig, when motortrend says this:
Whereas the old car tended to exhibit front-end push, the 2013 displays crisper turn-in, the front Goodyears really biting into the asphalt and responding quickly to steering inputs, allowing you to be more aggressive with the throttle application mid-corner. In comfort mode there's a hint of body roll, but in sport the car stays nice and flat. With all that extra power and torque, it's easy to kick the rear end out, but -- unlike the old car -- when you get the rear loose in the 2013 GT500, its slide is progressive. The last-gen car would start to go, then suddenly it was gone. The 2013 is far more predictable, so it's easier to modulate exactly how far you want to swing the rear out.

and to thirdgen....that .98g from motortrend? avg. not max. i believe the 1.03 on the zl was max? not avg?

Do you just post to hear your keys click? That has nothing to do with the conversation and 75 percent of your posts offer no value. As fun as this is its not your personal chatroom

Neither 12.3 (for the ZL1) nor 11.7 (for the GT500) is exactly the norm for bone stock, in my opinion.
I think an 11.9 and 11.5 split is probably a better representation based on what we've seen so far.
Ultimately both cars WILL put up quicker ETs in stock trim in private hands but the Mustang will always be at least 4 to 6 tenths quicker and 6-9mph faster at the same track/same day/all else being equal.
Maybe even a few 131mph passes in stock trim (132+ on a sticky tire in good air).

I know. I personally don't find the numbers we've seen thus far (from either car) to be all that bad considering the temps and weights.

And it's not done yet either...look for lower half 11s (11.3s/11.2s?) in bone stock trim/stock tires come fall, in my opinion.
And yes, it will crack into the 130s once the good air comes back.

Tru Dat. The ZL1 is respectable, but the GT500 keeps up on the track, and runs away from the ZL1 like a bad dream in any gear.
