The C3's were hideous, the Corvette has vastly improved with each successive generation. I look forward to the C7.

I don't know if I'd go that far LOL.
While I agree that the mid-late '70s Corvettes weren't exactly the best looking Corvettes on the road, I do find the '68 - '72 C3s to be quite attractive actually.

Drop the retro **** entirely. The past can be just that, past, done, over, dream up a new idea. The only retro car I will allow an acception with is the challenger. At least it actually looked like the old one.

I work right next to the GM test facility in AZ.I zoomed in on a vehicle that was wrapped in the black covers, had a long snout just like the bumper that was leaked.they had it on the oval test. They're was alot of activity that day, in which I believe is the new Tahoe/Suburban,Silverado/Sierra also wrapped and driving behind the Corvette looking vehicle.

I think this vette is going to be badass, and probably my first. Its between this one, or a c5 z06. I love the small bullet shape of the c5z. I am even more curious about the weight of the car overall. Weight has always played a crucial part in the vettes speed and cornering. Personally, if the interior is upgraded to the quality of that of the 05-06 GTO's or better, the thing will be an amazing car for the money. I am hoping that the smaller displacement will help it hold more boost on the stock bottom end, and that the cost for a base model will not be much more than what people are currently paying for the base c6. it will be really interesting to see it come out, and keep up with the new shelby gt500 in the 1/4 or beat it.

First of all..... ROLL TIDE!

the fact is the c4 is probably the worst design by far, and you seem to prefer that over this design or a c5-c6? you must have been in the sun too long.

sure the 63-67 models are gorgeous cars, but not practical for speed, aerodynamics, and cannot begin to compare to the technology invested in the vette's of today. This is the middle-upper class mans sports car, and they are doing,... and have been doing a fantastic job with it for years, and this one will be no exception. go find a 67. You have stumbled across a website/forum that 90-95% focuses on all out performance of modern muscle, and those older models just dont back it up like the new kids on the block. in any way. I mean consider that a 3.5l altima will smoke a Trans Am like the one in smokey and the bandit.

Personally, when people see this thing, they will change their tune. if its not in the mid 11's I will be dissapointed. I want to see a bolt on 10 second car with radials and a tune. usually if i think it looks good it does, and im picky. i do not care fo all the vents, but if a few are there thats fine, as long as they have a carbon fiber or painted finished look instead of flat black plastic. i dont want to have to pull things off and paint them to make them look the way that they should.

5.5 liter is extremely unlikely to happen. Displacment will have little to no effect on hw much boost the bottom end can take, material quality does.

I agree. It seems that almost everyone is targeting that displacement but I just don't think the base C7 engine will be that small, it might even be larger than the current 6.2L (6.4L?).

We have been in agreement on this in numerous threads. Doesn't make any really sense from a production, R&D, accounting, or driving experience perspective.

C3s have really grown on me over the years.

I'd much rather rock this:

^^^^^Not me. The chassis under those 70's model vettes belong under a pick-up truck. They were junk even compared to other stuff from that era.

i love the way c3s look. and suprised noone thinks/has mentioned the c5 looks like it was heavily influenced by the fd rx7. in aesthetics anyway.

That's true, there are definitely some RX-7 FD styling cues in the C5...but then one could also say that earlier Corvettes had some styling influences on all of the RX-7s in general as well so it's sort of a chicken or the egg/vicious cycle situation there.

Any Vette under 97 = ugly to me.
I also don't like C5 Z06s.

Aside from wheels and dash, how can you even tell?

I could not bring myself to own a c4, they are just too damn ugly. The C3 with the ducktail rear are great looking cars IMO, just lacked the ***** and chassis to support them.
