The New Dodge Dart is a Dud

For the love of all that is holy, retards. The Dart was, for all intents and purposes, a damned econobox people mover even back in the 60's. The hottest "regular" option was generally a 275hp 340 or a 300hp 383 (very rare) both good for probably low 15's in the 1/4. In 1969 a 440 option was available, but was special order and very few were made.
Just because they made less than 100 of these,

doesn't mean that this is a shame,
![](http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2012/01/01-2013-dodge-dart628.jpg)
because they literally made 100s of thousands of these with shitty little 100-140hp slant sixes.

So if Dodge today actually made a muscle car and called it a Dart, THAT would be much more of an bad reflection on than past than the current car.

If I was to buy a new car it would be a cruze, sonic, or dart, depending on the test drive. Skip the jetta as someone mentioned. I stay far away from VWs and Subaru thanks to the little ricer kids who have swarmed the area with them.

Justin, if it weren't for the HEMI Darts, nobody would even remember the Dart.
Look at the BMW 1-series, a perfectly fine DD as 118i, but as a 1M, it flys. And it sells well.

Of course, but that doesn't mean this new economy car known as the Dart is sullying the name of the old economy car known as the Dart.

My parents just bought a 2012 Jetta TDI. They looked at a, Cruze and an A3 TDI. They liked those, they did not look at the Dart and the Sonic was too small. The Cruze is a nice car but you can not get leather or a sunroof with the ECO trim package. The A3 was too expensive for the same car essentially. They average 46 mpg, half city half highway. I have a 2003 Jetta TDI with 240,000 miles and it runs great and I still get 43 mpg. I have no desire to buy a new economy car.

The new optimas are really nice inside (minus the LX base model). The new SX Limited isn't worth the extra money, IMO.
