I think a 450-500hp lt1 with a manual would make everyone over look the styling and sell like hot cakes. I wonder what it weighs?

It's 50kg less or about 200 pounds. That should put it around 3800 lbs.

If it doesn't sell that well (and I don't think it will) I have a feeling there won't be a 2nd year. Price is going to be a huge factor on sales, and if it's close to the price of the G8 GXP people won't be waiting in line for them.

This car doesn't out until the end of the year so it shouldn't be a problem dropping in the LT1.

true, but wasnt this car tested and designed before this motor made production?

Thumbs up

I love it, I think it's going to be an awesome car (just as the G8 GT and G8 GXP were).
I will love it even more if it comes in under $38k MSRP but not expecting that part.

Yes it was, but if they can change over from an L76 6.0 to a LS3 6.2 they can change over to an LT1 since it'll bolt right in. Install a different ECM and it's good to go. The GTO was designed with an LS1 and they changed it over to an LS2 and the same is true with the 4th gen Camaro.

2013 Chevrolet Super Sport show car

2007 Pontiac G8 GT show car

It's the two flavors of the F-body all over again.

What I mean by that post is we once again have two flavors of the same car, one a Chevrolet and one a Pontiac, like the 4th gen F-bodies except this time it's two versions of the Holden Commodore.

My GTO and G8 I waited until the last years to pull the trigger, so in 2016 perhaps.

Hopefully it will get the g8's to go down in price some and I can talk the wife into waiting before we jump back into another car payment so I can find a nice g8 for her dd.
