Holden Unveils Refreshed 2014 Commodore (was sold as the G8, now Super Sport in US)

I'm not expecting it to cut the price in half just hoping for current g8 drivers to trade up and more g8s hit the market which should help on the price. More cars equals lower price and every little bit helps.

Although official pricing will remain a secret until the Chevrolet SS goes on sale in the final quarter of 2013, Chevrolet chief engineer David Leone has suggested it will start as low as the mid-$40,000 range.

So the MSRP will be higher than the G8 GXP, which should be expected given almost four years of inflation.

Way too bland looking! The interior looks awesome, and I'm sure that it's made from better materials than the G8, but I would take the G8 for the looks and suffer with the worse interior any day. And for this car to be $45k it needs more power and/or the LT1. $35-40k would be more reasonable, but even then I would pick up a SHO or Charger before getting one of these.

SuperBee edition can be had for $43K, and the 6.4L Hemi V8 pushes out 470hp. I doubt the LS3 will do that in the SS since they were no where near that number in the Vette.
Also, I'm seeing advertised prices on the 2013 SRT8 for $41K brand new. SuperBees are going for under $39K brand new.
I'm a fan of GM over Dodge, but this SS would have to be about $40K even for me to choose it over the Charger. I'm still stunned that GM is running the LS3 over the LT1.

I know, what I was saying is that I feel the Charger SRT8/SHO would still be worth the extra cash if this was $35-40k. For $45-50k it needs to be more than a mild refresh of the G8 GXP with a nicer interior, no manual, and way uglier exterior.

When I see it next to the G8 I think it looks better, specially the front end. The headlights swoop back a little and the lower front bumper/fascia give it that Holden SSV look. I do like the G8 tail lights a lot better though and it needs some dual hood scoops to give it a meaner look. I don't like the wheels though, it needs some 5 spokes like the G8 has or the Camaro wheels.
