My estimates and expectations for the new LT1 were in the 475/475 range. This comes up short of what I expected. I don't see any post where people said that this car would be a turd, not live up to the Corvette standards, or anything along those lines. This car will crush. All I'm saying is I honestly thought the hp/tq numbers would have been a bit higher given the progression over the years.

There's no scenario where I wouldn't own this car, regardless of it coming short of my hp/tq expectations, if I had the money to do so.

Good numbers but would have liked to see the base car around 500hp mark. Going from a Lt1-LS1 it was a 45hp jump, Going from a LS1-LS2 it was a 55hp jump, going from a LS3-Lt1 its a 24hp jump?? Why?? When the C6 came out the base car had as much power as a C5 Z06. Oh well. I will be getting a C6 G/S, Z06 or ZR1 anyways as I really dont care for the looks of the C7..

The numbers are expected...and I think at some point the horsepower wars are going to negatively affect sales. What I mean by that is, there comes a point where the average driver is going to be limited by what he/she can handle, ie, driving a 500 hp corvette is not all that easy for the average driver, and GM targets a lot of customer segments with the vette.

My prediction is that the lower production cars, Z06/ZR1 are going to have a ton of hp, probably 600/700 respectively, which will satisfy the hardcore market segment. I think we will see that trend continue...the base cars and lower production cars getting farther apart in performance.

I know right, its funny but they forgot to compare the torque. The Boss cant even crack 400.

Nice! I wonder how much hp/tq will be found with just headers and a tune...

Dont forget the LT4 made 330hp and the LT5 made 400, so that was roughly 20hp bump and -50hp loss compared to the LS1.
The C6 Z06 originally got a 100hp increase over the LS2, and a ~70hp increase over the LS3, I wouldn't expect that much of a bump in power in the next gen base car, especially already being in the 400hp range.

I expect to see some pretty good gains, we did a lot of analysis on the design for both our C6 and C7 designs, the C6's have been seeing 40-50 hp/tq with the tri-y and a tune

How hard would these new engines be to tune? Just wondering due to the new fuel system and new ECU. I've heard some people talk about how hard it would be.
