That's incredible. I'd also like a look at the dyno for this little terror. It makes roughly the same peak power and torque as a Ferrari Modena with less than half the displacement. What amazes me is the weight. I'd like to see this in a gutted Honda or, better yet, a bike. Fantastic engineering.

So this is an engine for a race car... color me impressed when this is coming from a production engine.
otherwise this is no different than the 3.0 supra putting 700 to the wheels at your local track which is quite common and many of them have much more.
And there are a ton more examples of 2.something 4 cylinders in cars and bikes putting out similar power per liter figures. The point being they are all purpose built race engines.
The weight is impressive but attach accessory brackets, exhaust, intake, intercooler, cooling, transmission, oil tank, plumbing and the lines begin to blur quite a bit

I don't think they blur much at all, given that this engine is all it's cracked up to be. Add all that **** to a conventional engine, and it's still weighs WAY more than this engine.

I would hope that since the one and only application is known that the engineers would run countless FEA's (where max power output figures are known) and get rid of every last unneeded ounce of material, its probably made out of magnesium too or some other lightweight alloy only cost justifiable for an all out racing application.
sure its awesome and incredibly light but its like comparing a horse to a unicorn
