SRT8 Hellcat Unveiled
#41
That said, allpar says the curb weight for the 2015 Hellcat is 4449 with the manual and just 10 lb LESS with the automatic. I kinda think they put those numbers in the wrong order... That's about 200 lb weight diff. as compared to the 6.4L Challenger(according to them). Of course, these cars are actually very different.
Regardless, quite a bit heavier than the Camaro for sure. Oh, and they also said testing has put this car to 198mph, but they doubt that will be the case for production models due to heat.

They are heavy and slow, hell when I had my 300 with a 426 in it, it was hard trying to beat a lightly modded gto unless the person had some spray +boltons and it was hard keeping up with vettes, had me asking wtf did I pay for. But they are good cars and fun to customize ¥

You expect a 250 lb minimum increase? Why? I just went to see... it's not far off.

I do miss mine sometimes. It was a very nice looking car and I can haul the family around too.

Also unexpected... different wheelbase... NO WAY did I expect that! All in all, they come across as entirely different cars which happen to look all but identical.
Either way, I do wanna see how it performs.

I can't believe they gave it that much power! Well done Chrysler. Not enough to overcome the massive weight difference between it and the outgoing GT500, but that's still damn impressive. Would make a great car to get into trouble, with that wicked sound and all that tire melting power

Douchebag On The Tree
Generally I would say a solid boost to 700hp out of the V10 would be in order, but there have been many doubts about the Viper continuing on after this generation. Debuting a Challenger that out does it's power figure by 60hp certainly doesn't look good.
