The all-new 2015 Subaru WRX STI is a hot commodity at Subaru dealers across the nation. Can you find one?

The new 2015 Subaru WRX and WRX STI only trail the top-selling Subaru Forester in percentage of sales increase for 2014. The performance cars are flying out of dealer showrooms faster than they can get them in. We reported earlier this month that 2015 WRX and WRX STI performance sedans are hard to get and the wait is long if you want one.

2015 WRX and WRX STI are smokin’ hot

Subaru of America (SOA) has reported July sales and 2014 YTD sales and the 2015 WRX and STI are smokin’ hot cars in the area of performance and sales. SOA reports that the WRX and STI models have seen a 38.24 percent YTD sales increase over the previous years sales and that makes the performance car the top percentage of sales leader in the lineup and only the new 2015 Forester is better at a 46.77 percent increase YTD. The WRX and WRX are even ahead of the popular XV Crosstrek with a 35.80 percent increase YTD.

Many dealers are seeing demand for the 2015 WRX is about the same for the WRX STI and they are selling an equal number of sales of each model. So if you want a new 2015 WRX or WRX STI be prepared to put your name on a waiting list. We are hearing there’s a 3-4 month wait to have your performance car made and shipped from Japan. We also hear that as of two weeks ago, there were only 75 of the new 2015 WRX STI Launch Edition models left in the U.S. for sale.

2015 WRX STI Launch Edition is exclusive

The limited edition models come equipped with gold-finished forged alloy wheels and the WR Blue Pearl exterior paint that is a combination long associated with Subaru competition rally cars. Only 1000 of the special edition cars are being produced for the U.S. market and you need to hurry if you want one. If you want a chance to win a free 2015 WRX STI Launch Edition you have until August 4 to enter from eBay Motors. Fans can visit http://bit.ly/1ods794 to find out how to enter.

Subaru as a brand setting record sales

Subaru is not done attacking the market in 2014 as the new-generation 2015 Legacy sedan and 2015 Outback wagon made their dealer launch in July. The reason the new 2015 WRX/STI performance sedans are flying out of dealer showrooms, is because performance fans like the upgrades that have been made to the new-generation 2015 WRX/STI styling, drivetrains, technology, comfort and luxury upgrades.

Subaru is reporting an all-time monthly sales record for July and the 2015 Subaru WRX and WRX STI are smokin’ hot and contributing to Subaru’s success this year. Performance fans will have to wait in line if you want one.

GOSH DARN IT! I've been looking for a replacement for my 02 Camaro but just can't seem to find something that would make me happy. Finally I decided on the 2015 WRX so I look online at dealer inventories before I go for a test drive. Well....there was nothing in their inventories. So then I find this article, which explains that.

Guess I'll be driving the Camaro a little while longer, because if you have to wait for one I'm sure you have to pay the full sticker price. I can't imagine buying a car without dickering on the price first.

In addition to the new cars being hot performers, I feel like a lot of fanboys hung onto their 1st gen cars because the 2nd gen hatchback was just flat out UGLY. Not to mention the softer suspension which made it handle WORSE than the car it replaced.

Also the Mitsubishi EVO is VERY long in the tooth. For similar $$$$, ie 26 to 30k, the base WRX is the car to have IMO. You are looking at 22-30k for a V6 Mustang, Camaro or Challenger if you want RWD. FWD you are looking at a a hot Ford Fiesta ST, Ford Focus ST, Golf GTI(which despite being slower is a damn good car dynamically and it feels like an Audi on the inside). Or you can have your take of big FWD, overpowered, bland, very spacious sedans like a turbo Kia Optima or a V6 Camry. Both of those will be blown away if you have the nerve and faith to do a 6,000rpm clutch dump in the WRX, praying nothing will break.

IE there really isn't anything like it for sale at that price point that delivers that sort of acceleration, handling, and winter weather traction. Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Audi, Cadillac, Acura, Infiniti, they will all charge you $20,000 more for a car with AWD and similar performance, none of the mainstream car makes offer anything with AWD with that sort of scalded cat performance.

I really like the new WRX/STI. I would even consider trading in my '13 Silverado 4x4 to have one as a Daily Driver. It can go fast, it can drive in the snow/bad weather, its just really versatile and seems fun to drive. My only concern is how reliable is it? How is the quality? I would hope with the price tag of the STI its all of the above.

I actually just read a comparo in Car and Driver of the new WRX vs the GTI and the GTI won handily. Not that much slower, but a much better interior and nicer drive. Just an all around better car and it's really nice looking. 2 problems though, I want AWD. Also, it's a VW and I still don't trust them for reliability (though I could be convinced otherwise).

I think they are very reliable so long as you keep it stock and don't do clutch dumps. I have never owned one but many owners, like above, use them as reliable DDs.

I went from a 2010 SS to an 09 STI and was pretty bored with it. If it's a second car that you'd take through snow, then it's one of the best cars for that. Transmission wasn't as nice as the Tremec system I was used to. Stereo might have been the worst I've ever heard.

Re: the reliability, on the Subaru forums almost no one has a high mileage car without major repairs. On the other side of this, a good portion of those cars are highly modified/beat on daily so it's difficult where to point the blame. I had no problems in my short ownership other than some odd electric bugs (dash lights that went away after a minute or two.)
