All electric? If so that's a BAD MOVE!

They stated early on the "frunk" is designed for the hybrid setup. The C8 does nothing for me, it may as well be an EV as it would certainly be faster than the untunable valve dropping hunk that's in there currently, and they did themselves no favors with that transmission as it has tons of failures as well. Making it an EV would be deleting two big failure points everyone complains about now, I'm not sure the white new balance crowd would even notice its an EV as they wax it 15 times a month.

I'm no fan of the C8 either and the C6 will always be my favorite.

Gas prices will keep going up to the point that it won't be economical to daily drive them and you will calculate it in dollars per mile. Hell even now with gas in my area at just under $4 per gallon it costs me about 10$ a day to drive to work and back...you just may not be able to afford to as much as you would like.
With that said, the current state of gas prices isn't much worse than what I saw back in 2007; I was paying $4.96/gallon for 93 back then, now I can get it for $5.59 in the same region. Probably not much difference when you factor inflation over those 15 years. The current spike will likely ease up eventually, to some degree, just like it did during the Great Recession which came shortly after that 2007 peak.
Every time we see a bubble or hyperinflation in any segment, folks tend to think it's permanent. There is always some level of correction or valley yet to come, though the average does continue to climb.

Since the market is so good right now my son went to sell his C6 Grand Sport that's a manual car but the stealership offered him 3K below market value. We know they're going to sell the car at least 10K above market so he said thanks but no thanks.

I used to eat a lot of fast food and realized not only was it not healthy it gets expensive, I'll still eat pizza for lunch now and then but it's cheaper to bring lunch by a long shot. You can make a whole meal for a whole family for $10 although it's getting harder with meat prices double to triple what they were before the senile one took office.

Like others have said, I'd rather hear the purr of an ICE engine. Even my Acura TL is a bit too quiet for my liking. I can barely hear the motor at 5krpms.
I wouldn't like the feel of a silent car. When I push the pedal down, I want a reaction in sound and feel more than I want speed. It's part of the driving experience and many people think of cars as A to B, but that's just not for me.

ive owned a variety of cars over the years and the tesla fits in nicely i think. i still have a BB dually, 3 73 chevelles in various states of disrepair. the main driver even has front bumper exhaust. my next project is looking to be a 4 banger. and the tesla is a great hop in and go and i never have to worry about stopping for gas or running into anything on the road thats faster. prior to the tesla the car that filled its role was a c6 z06 with a HPR 468 that just plain sounded mean and shook at stoplights. i loved it.

I don't do fast food, but I frequent a lot of locally owned restaurants for breakfast and lunch. I almost always cook dinner for the fam, but zero chance I can do it near $10, my dogs eat more than that some days it seems.
I get it, having a jump in and go daily is clutch. Personally I don't care how fast a daily is, not trying to race karens with my kids and dogs in the vehicle. I have a C6 and god they suck as a commuter, I can't do it.

Besides being cramped and the front hitting everything, visibility isn't the greatest (not only for you but other people seem to not see it), tunnel gets warm, my head sits at everyone elses bumper height, interior shows its age, and even a seemingly perfect road gives it tons of rock chips. I said screw it and turned it into a project, for a weekend car its a ton of fun (after you turbo it).

Only slightly lowered since I usually run a 28 or 30" tire. The cramp to me in daily use is width not height, I think someone 6' can drive them fine as long as they are narrow but my shoulder is basically against the door all the time, not much arm movement. At the track wearing a helmet its basically against the roof, even with lowered seat mounts.
