I'm more worried about how much power they actually dyno and how much they weigh.

They're was alot of complaints coming from the CTS-V owners, they had the LS6 but said the cars dyno'd so low. The GTO's are heavy pigs, I think they probaly would of sold a little better within the racing community if they were a little lighter.

After spending some time behind the wheel of a GTO, I say the car is spot with the exception of the weight. You feel it around the curves too much. The car doesn't wallow, but you can feel it working against you. If it's weight was more in line with other 2 door coupes I think it would be a home run. That said the Monaro platform was never designed for a two door coupe, so there are many compromises in the design that aren't ideal for the GTO purpose (my understanding is it's built for light off-road work to cope with Aussie roads). I'm sure a GTO built on a purpose built Zeta platform will be the bussiness. Good things a comming!

Oh and the above said, The currnet GTO with an Ls2 and sticky rubber is going to be a fantastic car I'm sure.

I'm glad GM is giving their Australian engineers the task of designing the Zeta for scratch for new global cars, they do a fantastic job of it and leave the US to worry about redoing trucks and SUVs, something we're good at.
That is some horse

I highly doubt the Australians can ANYTHING better on any type of car than the USA.

So far I am not impressed with anything from Australia except "Crocodile Hunter".

With all the new HP, the people at GTO better change the design if they want to sell very many. The concept is so much better looking than what they are offering us today. I don't know if new look concepts really have a chance or they already have the future designs in place. To compete with the big boys, GTO needs to make a statement, and make it bold.

I agree, I like the sleeper look. Plus the 04's will be cheaper

Tony,
Zeta is the derivitive of the Sigma (CTS-V) chassis that the next generation Camaro and GTO will ride on.

-Adam
No Sorry Zeta is the RWD platform From Holden which is what most of your RWD cars will ride on

That is a crock of dung IMO. If it is gonna have the Pontiac GTO badge then it needs to be designed and built here with American muscle and know how and not some Ausi version.

Sorry..... Had to let off some steam.
Hey you guys came to us and picked it, There are far more high performence models in the stables you just picked the slowest one
And if it wasn't for Aussie versions you would be lost right now with no zeta. And Holden Aussie are teaching GM how to build differnt models of the one platform which saves money which brings in cheaper cars and more high performence cars If it wasn't for this Aussie Version the GTO would never have got legs to walk again

Zeta platform? Good. I for one am not happy that the current Goat is based on the same platform as the Cadallic Catera

-Todd
No the Current GTO is based on a Holden Commodore platform.

I'm glad GM didn't go that route for 2004. They chose the best coupe (and one of their best cars period) in their product arsenal to resurrect the name, and it does a damn fine job of it. Now they have their best RWD gurus responsible for the first one working on the next one, and this time it's being engineered to be a GTO as a well as a Monaro.

I'm sure it will distress you and ActionJack to know the man who styled the Monaro is now in charge of styling GM's North American product line up.

These are production cars?

If so, what are some numbers (HP, RWHP, 0 to 60, 1/4, etc)?
