The pic must be correct, but some of the technical stuff sounds rather fishy.

GM: "remove the image from your site until the embargo is lifted"

Well, if you thought that Z06 image was photochop'd ... what do you think now?

I just had these AWESOME baby-back BBQ ribs tonight, got them from a local pizza place. I tell you, the meat just fell off the bones, nice smoky BBQ sauce too.

Now, just as I'm slipping into a delightful "food coma" we get these two e-mails from GM in the Webmaster e-mail inbox.

As you can see below, Mike was very polite and professional in his e-mail. Seems like a real nice guy. Unlike Robert, who wasn't so nice, so he shouldn't expect to hear from me.

I went to the "Is this it?" post -- but all I saw was a big red X. It would appear the person took the image off his website already.

So, there you have it, I figured you'd want to know where the image went.

If there are any further e-mails, I will add them to this post.

Dear Sir,

My name is Mike xxxxxxx and I'm the xxxxxxx of Broadcast Communications for General Motors.

I've noticed that you have one of GM's embargoed photographs of the 2005 Corvette on your website. Since this image is embargoed until January 10, 2005, I am asking that you remove the image from your site until the embargo is lifted. While I don't expect you to tell me who provided you with the image, I am wondering if you would tell me if you received the image before Noon on Tuesday, November 9.

If there is any confusion regarding usage of GM's embargoed images or if you would like to discuss the situation with me, I can be reached through
email, or by phone at 313-665-xxxx. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Mike xxxxxxxx

Dear Sir,

Please remove the pictures that are part of the following:

DIGITALCORVETTES.COM > C6 Corvette > C6 Corvette - Z06 & C6R > Is this it?

These pictures are the property of General Motors. Please contact me so we can discuss this issue in further detail.

Thanks,

So what if I printed a picture out? Would that be the General's property as well?

One prob. That pic looks like a FRC. The current or last years Z06 was limited in its topend speed because it was a FRC. I thought the new Z was to be a regular hatch to increase topend speed.

Thats what I've been hearing lately. It'll still be a fixed roof coupe, just wont have the almost vertical rear window, instead it'll have the slanted coupe hatch.

All signs point to a FRC, but a fastback not a notchback (i.e. coupe profile). Works for me since I like the coupe look better anyway, plus there's the aero benefits.

Damn, the more I look at that pic of the lowered black ZO6, the more I want it
