Not For U.S. Sale: 350hp Focus RS

With the new European C1 based Focus ST already sporting 217hp from a Volvo inline 5 (matching the output of the previous Focus RS) the next RS has nowhere to go but up. Apparently Ford is thinking of putting Volvo's upcoming inline 6 into the Focus. Kind of makes you wonder what's going to happen to the current Yamaha built 4.4L V8 if the turbo inline 6 is capable of 350hp. In any case a 350hp AWD Focus would definitely be bad *** and give Evos and Rex STis a run for their money. Especially when you consider that the Focus has a bit more grunt with two extra cylinders. The saddest part is that it wont be coming stateside as I'm guessing Ford fears that the Focus RS would cut into Mustang sales. While Turbo AWD pocket rockets and RWD V8 muscle are two completely different things, people often cross shop, especially when the choices for RWD V8 two doors is limited. In any case the next RS looks to be a stormer. I'd hit it.
