Mazda CX-7 Pre-Show Photos And Info
Info http://www.autoblog.com/2006/01/04/m...otos-and-info/
Mazda contines to show that it's on a roll with the CX-7. Awesome looking ride if you ask me. I am a little wary with them choosing to use the 2.3L Turbo 4 from the Mazdaspeed 6 though. As bad *** as the 2.3L Turbo is, people generally have it in their mind that more cylinders = better which is obviously not always the case. I'm guessing Mazda will tout the the CX-7s turbo 4 as having the power and in this case torque (258 lb.ft. at 2500rpm is not bad for an unstressed tiny turbo 4 banger) of an adequate V6, with the fuel economy of a 4. Direct Injection doesn't hurt either. It's a ballsy move by Mazda but I'm thinking and hoping it'll pay off. I love the MZR 2.3L motor and thought it was awesome from the moment they announced that it would power the Mazdaspeed 6. I just don't know if people will accept it when everyone else offers 6 cylinder engines. Now if only they would put it into the smaller, lighter Mazda 3 complete with AWD. What a pocket rocket that would be.
