I didnt compare them to a diesel, the magazines choose too. Edmunds, Car&Driver and CR all show the Tundra to perform better when towing 8000lbs! It accelerated faster, brake faster and simply out performed the 2500 Duramax, 250 Ford and Dodge Cummings.

There hasnt been significant data showing the longeivity of gas vs diesels when pulling heavy equipment. I know its not a diesel, but it performs well for what I am doing.

Talked to a guy who delivers to the Toyota assembly plant and he says the employee parking lot is full of mostly Ford and Chevy trucks. Yep, get paid by the Japanese and spend your money on an American truck!

That is a stock Tundra, vs a Lightning with intake, exhaust and a tune.

13.8 @ 104 from Car And Driver. And we all know those magazine guys cant drive. Dragtimes.com has a stock one listed as 13.37, and the best they show a Tundra is 13.9.

"The Tundra beat all the heavy duty diesel pickups in CR’s 0 to 60-mph acceleration tests towing the 7,400-pounds trailer. The three-quarter-ton acceleration tests appear to have similar results to what we found during our recent Heavy Duty Shootout, which was done testing one-ton diesels.""'

Internet videos prove NOTHING. Can you prove that the trucks in the video are what they say? Stock, modded, other? Driver quality? I could post videos of my Z28 claiming it is stock, but that doesnt mean anything. Truth is that people have gone as fast as 13.1x in a stock lightning, can you say the same for a Tundra?

No I cant go that fast in mine, since it isnt a RC. I didnt say the Tundra was faster than a Lightning, I said it has the potential to hang with one, meaning a fairly good race. People have run 13.8 without the use of a blower.

These trucks are automatic. Meaning there is less chance of driver error. The point I was trying to make is, that the runs were pretty close, despite a bolt on Lightning vs a stock Tundra.

it seems like all you care about is 0-60 times and the 1/4 mile (hince your other argument regarding the lightning and SRT10 which are clearly faster) ... Maybe your forgetting that those diesels weigh at least a 1000 pounds more than a tundra and those diesels blow out any 1/2 ton (including the tundra) in towing. don't kid yourself

There hasnt been significant data showing the longeivity of gas vs diesels when pulling heavy equipment
you might want to check up on that, longevity on a diesel smashes any gas engine.... I would think especially under continuous heavy loads

Yeah, really. Million mile engine rebuilds on big rigs is nothing to sneeze at.

Also the service intervals even on light truck diesels are getting longer. 400,000 miles on a light truck diesel in very common without an rebuild, and those are trucks that are getting used for their purpose.

I was just about to post where the 6.0 Silverado beat the diesels to 80 loaded as well.
Gearing and well... your mileage goes to everloving **** doing it, unlike a diesel where you can actually enjoy decent mileage.

Yes, unit THANK YOU for having mercy on us!
I sense that "Chrissy" is trying for the LS1TECH ban record. What is the record now, like 10 bans or something? Is there a limit until a "permaban" is handed down??
