Sad to see it go, but financially it makes sense. Just as this muscle car revolution was getting going now it seems like its dying

They could... V8-ify it. But I really really REALLY doubt they'd be willing.

Dodge: "Hey GM, you know that engine you made.. what's it the 'L...X.. no, S... 9...' we sorta need one for like 5 days?"

Jk.

It will be a go for at least 3 more years as the contract says production until 2011, there is lots of rumors about them doing away with the Viper but thats all it is at this point, rumors. I think they will realize that it wont be such a good idea of them getting rid of their Halo car, lots of Viper owners own other Dodge products just because of the Viper. I would not put it past Cerberus as they are trying to get rid of Chuck Tator, the owner of the oldest dodge dealership in the world, and one of the best Viper know it all mechanics we have, all because he doesnt sell enough vehicles, lame Only time will tell. At least the value of my Viper will go up if they do kill the viper.

LOL you have to be kidding right?? Seriously they would never V8 it. Besides they are getting better MPG with the new 600HP viper than the previous 505HP. They were even able to reduce the Gas Guzzler tax because of that.

Theres just no way that they can kill off the viper. Its way too popular with the le mans series and drag races. I just dont think that they are gonna kill it off. It doesnt make any sense for them to.

The reason they didnt make a 2007 Version of the Viper is because they were left with two options. Completely modify the V10 to meet the new emissions standards or put a V8 in it. They straight up said that putting a V8 in it was not an option. This came out of the Viper Magazine. They didnt have time to do what they needed to do to meet the new standards with the V10 so that is why there was no 2007 version. the new V10 actually gets better gas mileage than the previous Gen, along with 100 more horses.

Yep, and the Monte Carlo and Thunderbird were in Nascar and many other circle track organizations and the Camaro was in NHRA. It happens.

It looks like they already have. They have brought back the vents on the side. The rear end looks like the old vipers...sortof. Overall, I think that this new viper is the BEST looking viper that they have ever produced.

Yeah, it does. The t-bird got replaced by the taurus, and then by the fusion. They still run the monte carlo. I think that they still run Camaros in NHRA dont they?

In the top 2 series it is all the Impala now, no more Monte Carlo. That all died with the new car. Racing series arent as important to manufacturers as they used to be, but they do still carry some weight.

All the COTs are Impalas, and as of this year it is all COTs. They did run some still last year, but the Monte Carlo isnt in production anymore so GM isnt wasting TV time on it.

Are you sure it was the new 2008? Their currently isnt any Black 2008's out yet, currently just Blue, Green, and Venom Red are out. There isnt much body style difference between a 2003-2006 and a 2008 besides the Hood, and the wheels. Some have upgraded their 2003-2006 with a 2008 hood, which is what I plan on doing, it breathes much better and just looks much better IMO.

It was definately a black one. The hood looked the exact same with the louvers and huge ram air. I am sure that it was a 2008. The guy probably just had dodge paint it black or something. I mean with enough green you can get it any color from the factory.
