Bob Johnson's V revisited!

very nice powerband. although, wheels are too small for my taste, especially spending the bread on HREs, i would've gone 20" staggered as they will make them fit perfectly on our cars.
i just order my 360forged split sevens on friday.

I once upon a time had some staggered 20" on it.
20" is no way to put power to the ground,
There are no drag radials of any kind I know of in 20" & I have already found
street tires are a waste of time, Would love to find some wrinkle walls in 18" , But they don't make them either. The best I can do is MT/ET drag radials, had some Nitto's drag radials & there not much better than street tire.
So, if you enjoy turning donuts at 120 mph you can use 20" but otherwise your going to have to use a very good drag radial & in 20" there are none.
When your putting down 800 + to the ground, hooking is much more important than looking Cool , Even though I like it to look cool too.
If you know of some 20's that will hook with 800+ please let me know.

I WOULD LOOK INTO A DART MANIFOLD. not 100% sure if they make one specifically for an ls motor. they work amazing with just a match port and are way cheaper than those sheetmetal fabbed ones. iwould love to get a sheetmetal intake but cant afford it!

talking about hp increases of 30 over the Ls6 intake & as much as 50 hp increase when ported. And these were independent reviews, not Edelbrock. And there didn't seem to be any losses in certain rpm ranges, The increases were from 1500 thru 6500 rpm.
Problem is the strut brace will have to be modified & with the cowl hood it might work, we're doing some measuring to make sure it can be done.

I have the Edelbrock intakes on order, hopefully today I find out how soon I'll have them.
We have used $2,500.00 Beck Sheetmetal intakes in the past, such as on this build. We have a Wilson sheetmetal intake getting built right now for our Warhawk engine for our new GTO drag car. This new Edelbrock intake looks extremely promising, as it looks like it will provide added horsepower in the range of the more expensive intakes at a fraction of the cost.
From our measurements it appears that it will fit on Bob's V with Bob's current hood. Bob
PRO-FLO XT MANIFOLDS
FOR LS SERIES CHEVY
Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT is engineering at it’s finest with the introduction of a new line of EFI intake manifolds. The Pro-Flo XT intakes utilize a large plenum and long tapered runners to deliver maximum horsepower and broad torque throughout the rpm range (1500-7000 rpm). These universal intakes are designed for use with virtually any fuel injection system. A new front mount 90mm throttle body feeds the intake all the air it needs for maximum performance. These intakes feature machined fuel injector bosses to properly position the fuel injector for optimum performance. Matching fuel rail kits are offered to provide a complete bolt-on EFI intake package. Aesthetics were also a major consideration in the design, offering enthusiasts custom looks and choice of as-cast aluminum or black powder coated finish with contrast machine.
Throttle Body Recommendations: Edelbrock #3869 or #38693. Installation Notes: Recommended gasket: Uses LS1/LS6 style individual port O-ring seals. Manifold Dimensions: A-10.2", B-10", C-20.1"
