Our tracks down here prep decently, and I hear No Problem Raceway just repaved, scraped, drug, and all that out to 700' out, BUT I know you're not gonna drive all the way to Louisiana just hit a track. Sorry I can't be more help!

Your Probably right about that, But you never know what might happen when it starts getting cold here in Indiana.
I assume the track down there are open year round right ?

EPP is going to be at Muncie with RPM transmissions track day '09 tomorrow.

http://rpmtransmissions.com/trackday/trackday.html

Short notice but you might give it a thought.

There will be some HEAVY hitters there.

It shuts down for a couple weeks around Christmas, but I think that is just for vacation. I've made a lot of personal bests on other cars in the winter here I can't wait to run the V in January.

seems as if you need a set off slicks and skinnies on some lightweight wheels just for the track.

Not possible with stock brakes....honestly what you need to do is get a brake proportioning valve and basically "kill" the rear brakes, plug the lines and run smaller wheels on the hubs with big fat slicks. ORP and US41 do a DECENT prep when they have their street car shootouts, but I think the last time that ORP fully prepped the track was probably Pinks. I'll look into some stuff Bob and get with you at the Dyno day. I want to see that thing run at the track as much as you do!

Bob,
Edgewater drag strip has the Stick Shift Nationals on the 26th of Sept.
Anyone can run, enter Street Stick, it's $30 with a chance to win $500.
It's a great track and they will have excellent prep.
I'm in Korea or I would be there!! UMTR is a great bunch of people and I promise they will LOVE your V cause they love mine. Tell them I said hello and sent you in my place, you will have a ball

Was going to ORP on Tuesday street legal night & I find out they don't do
crap on those nights as far a track prep & I've already done the 120 mph donut thingy " it ain't fun."
Had a friend was supposed to take the V on a thursday when he said they do prep the track, But he is always to busy for some reason to get it done.
And since I have another 2-3 weeks before I can use my clutch foot . I
need to find out where they do a great job of track prep, Since I only have the 295/35/18 BFG drag radials & they do lose traction seriously all the way thru 4th gear on the street and we all know you can't get slicks in 18"
So it's imparitive I have some good prep or I'll end up in the wall for sure
FWIW i took my car out the track here in houston a week ago, I was on some BALD *** street tires, needless to say it was not impressive or fun at all. so i understand your frustration with traction. I too have had some VERY SCARY moments in this thing.

i dont remember right now the slips are in the car, but it was notting impressive. i have gone alot faster in cars with way less power. This thing is rediculous i had to peddle it down the whole track and had to granny shift cant bang the gears ill end up on the wall. However i did beat my bros c5 vette and he had no traction problems and was driving the sh*t out of that car.

yeah, like JJSimon said, we only have a few weeks off in the winter. It does actually get a little too cold to race down here, (too cold for me is below 60*, but i'm from texas, go figure) but that only happens at night. Give us a ring if you ever decide to come down this way. We'll go out to the track with you.
