I wish there was some wheels options that arent $4,000

stupid 6 lug, makes it difficuilt.

I was thinking about how difficuilt it would be to convert to 5 lug....
But then the cost of that would almost equal out to just buying 6 lug rims from the little research I did ...

Looks to me like you would need the front hub/spindles and the rear axle hub assembly .

which total about 6-700 new and then you need brake rotors.

Hope it works and then you can chose from some nice 5 lug wheels.

Yup, same here. I gave up trying to convert the lugs too when comparing the costs. If the C5 hubs were cheaper, it'd be much easier.

i did a qwk search for reg cts hubs.
They should fit, if not you might have to press the spindle off the bearing and awap them but i think so. i think the cts spindle/hub should be the same besides having 5 lugs.

and each rear hub is $300 and each front one is 100$.

plus rotors and crossing your fingers it will work...ehhh i wont be trying it anytime soon but maybe one day....

Just bought new tires for my 18s but maybe in a few years...

Actually, they're 25-26#. Not great, but about normal for an OEM 18" wheel. The GM Accessory wheels are 22-23#.

How is the weight of wheels and tires "extra"? Are there cars out there that have weightless wheels and tires?

Yes, they are the same, but the 5x115mm bolt pattern isn't terribly popular. Lots of narrow, crappy wheels for Monte Carlos and the like. The Vette hubs would give a more popular bolt pattern (5x4.75"), but finding wheels in a Vette pattern with the CTS-V offset may not be easy, either.

You can get new front hubs on ebay for $75 each. You could pick up perfectly good used ones from a junkyard for half that. (www.car-part.com) Pricing for the rears is no different - about $50 or so.

Just re-drill the stock rotors. If you don't trust your own drill I'm sure a machine shop could do it for next to nothing.

To me the biggest reason not to do the 5-lug conversion with the regular CTS hubs is the lack of 5x115mm wheels out there. The Vette hubs aren't quite a direct bolt-on (based on what Norm V posted over on the Caddy Forum), and even if they were, finding wheels is a bit difficult, as mentioned above.

One thing I haven't looked into at all (although I imagine someone already has) is using the '08+ hubs. They're 5x120mm, which is a pattern used by BMW, so there should be lots of wheel selections there.

Vettes are the same lug pattern as an FBODY that should open a large amount of wheel options and im not sure how the offset of an fbody will be on a V.

But 5x120 bmw wheels fit on a vette/camaro.

Let me know if you buy some new rims. I'd be willing to buy one of your old rashed rims to use as a spare.

Like mentioned above... 5x120 is the same as the vette hubs. BMW, vettes, f bodies... all the same.
