04 CTS-V axles are they that weak???? So i was messing around with my buddy in his srt-4, i missed a shift and went into first when i should have hit 3rd. I feel like a jackass i have never done that before. 
So when i did that i heard a loud pop, i pulled over didnt see anything but when i took off i heard it again. When i got home i jacked up the car and saw the boot came off the axle and there was some flung grease. So my question is did i break the axle??? and how weak are those damn things

sounds like your car will not be for sale for a little bit till its fixed lol, sorry i guess the sudden speed change and shock from hitting the wrong gear could have sheared or broke something. going into first while moving is probably the worst gear to miss and go into. let us know what you find.

they are not that weak but the engineers did upgrade the axles for the 06-07 model. since you mechanically over revved your LS6 , be glad that your pistons didn't kiss your valves... check the classified on cf.com .. i know some people are selling stock axles for cheap...
