Default Blew the diff, any help on finding a replacement would great

Hey guys, I finally got a chance to take the v out to the drags after putting a cam and full exhaust on it and on the first pass the rear let go in the burnout box Just wish I could have at least made one pass before it went boom. So im looking for a 06-07 diff. Does anyone have a good one for sale. If not who sells these for the best price. Ive already found the write up on the swap so ill be doing the install myself to save some on labor.

thanks

im not gonna lie, i comepletely drive around the water box. I KNOW its not gonna 60 foot so theres no point in risking a burnout to pull awhopping 2.1+ 60 foot IMO. next time i would skip it if i were you. youd rather spin then hook and hop with these cars.

The car didnt even move, it just let go. Which I thought was pretty crazy since I do burnouts every once in a great while on dry pavment with no issues. Then I try it on a wet surface and boom No burnout equals slipping and slidding down a cold track, so If I cant do a burnout there is no reason to run the car.

Get a Solstice/Saturn 3.91 posi unit (interchangable, has same posi unit and is at least as strong as the OEM ), then change the driveshaft mount from the Solstice 3-finger to your V's round mount.

You can generally get a good one for $450-550. Use the difference in cash to buy an axle to combat the hop.

I can't see paying 3-4 times that for something that's going to break anyway.

I have tried and tried to tell people the sky/solstice diff will fit and they never believe me.
Anyhow, there are two versions of the sky/solstice diff. One will work, the other will not. I do not know part numbers or years but the one that will work has the same front pinion mount ours does only with another mount bolted through the eye. The second version has the same mount location but instead of bolting through the eye that our cars use, they did away with that eye completely and used a bolt on mount on the right side of the diff.

I know that sounds funny but once you see a picture it should be a bit more clear. I'll try and find one.

I know these are crappy but this is all I could find. You can see on the top one it has the same mount ours does with another mount bolted through it. The picture on bottom has something completely different. Hope this helps.

A couple of minutes w/tuning software or a Tech 2 fixes that.

These pop up on eBay occasionally. Store a photo of a V differential in your "My Pictures" file and do a visual comparison to make sure you get the right one.
