Lowering the car, how much for track/autocross use??
So I am waiting on the parts to do the MM mod and lower the car. The only problem is I am not sure how much to lower the car by and if I should even cut the springs! I will be doing alot of autocross and track events but what to have it still looking good so what do you guys think?

Stock height is fine for autocross or roadrace...get some hotchkiss sway bars...careful going too low I know coming off the back stretch at homestead being on the brakes the car came close to bottoming out at stock height, it may rub the air dam being lowered...but if you want adjustability ground control or the other adjustable coilovers seem to be the way to go.

I'm lowered about 1" - 1.25" all around and that seems to be a pretty sweet spot for me anyway. That height allows you to lower the center of gravity of the car without really screwing up the suspension geometry that the Cadillac/GMHP engineers worked so hard fine-tuning.
As for bottoming out (or the nose diving), I don't really seem to have that much of a problem with that because my springs are stiffer than stock, if you are going to go lower and actually auto-x/track the car, I would recommend a coilover kit with at least 550 lb springs, preferably even stiffer.
As an aside, I have some 800/850 lb springs waiting to get installed in my car before my next track day, those are going to replace the 600/650 pounders I have currently. Stiff springs are really important on our heavy cars to keep body roll and dive to a minimum.
