Are you by chance on the original factory toe rods? If so, take the weight off the rear suspension and give them a wiggle. If they are sagging somewhat they will cause a grinding sound as the car moves forward, which will sound like a lot of stuff other than what it is.

I just went through this thinking I needed an alignment, turns out I needed much more than just an alignment and its super easy to overlook as you cannot tell with weight on the wheels.

Dead toe rod bushings

these are not stock toe rods, but it was kinda surprising none the less. My stock toe rods did the same. If you stomp on the gas pedal the car will feel somewhat greasy with a loud roaring sound and that's a good indicator you should check them.
