The V began having a difficult time starting this weekend. I went to the dealership and my battery was going bad, so they replaced it under warranty. I'm not sure if that could be the root of my problems, but I will let the car relearn the fuel trims and do the full ODBii relearn. Hope this helps the symptoms.

This may or may not help. But, have you tried doing a throttle relearn?

I have the same issue on warm start ups and especially with the AC on. The tune didnt compensate for my ac compressor surging at idle. I need a re-tune. tell them to check the tune while your ac is on and see what is going on. Most likely they dyno'd with your AC off as it will deflate your numbers due to the excess drank on the motor.

^^^A/c on is a myth, the a/c automatically shuts off at WOT therefore not losing any power.

Yeah, not sure I want to get sucked into the modding game again. That was kind of the demise of my V. One thing after another.

If I get an Escalade i'll do Corsa and wheels and call it a day. The V2 will take much more self control to not mod. Headers, tune, pullies, intake, cam, ect...the list is never ending.

you could always put a blower on the Escalade and call it the Escalade-V...

You sure? My AC loves blowing ICE COLD when WOT. Your PCM ECU whatever you wish to call it has to compensate for 2 things when drag is introduced to the motor. Fuel and timing. Both of which will effect the operating efficiency of the LS6 and every other combustion engine at idle. This is where his problem is. AT IDLE. Not when hes runnin the quarter mile.

You have a throttle request signal at the ECU and a throttle position sensor sending signals to the ecu. When there is manual request (foot on pedal), the ecu wants to go to idle and therefore returning your throttle blade to an "idle" position. Same position that your STOCK cam would require. Now that he is cammed, and valves opened longer and at a different degree of rotation than before, he therefore needs more air.

If you look at every DIY cam install, they tell you to get a tune and 9 out of ten times, drill a small hole in the throttle body plate to compensate for the need for more air. If you look at your throttle position readings, they will be of higher value (blade opened more) than that of a stock car.

itsslow98 is correct, A/C shuts off at 100% throttle. I just opened my stock tune in HP tuners, and sure enough, its set to shut off at WOT

Whisler, post your tune in HPT format if you can. Or some logs while the idle problem is happening

Just had the same problem as my battery was unplugged since July 12th until Wednesday this week. I blew out the MAF and the throttle body and reset the battery again. Right after I reset the battery I immediately started driving it. I also kept it from stalling for a couple trips. Now its perfect with no issues!

Quick Reply: Clutch in = RPMs drop to 500 and nearly stalls. Need advice.
