I have no standing mile experience at all, but I'm curious why you say taping won't help much? I mean, I wouldn't expect it to make his speed jump 10mph or something like that, but I would think smoothing out the aerodynamics would make a measureable difference.

when they taped the cars up in the salt flats top gear episode (zr1, cts-v and srt8 challenger) they all had significant pick-up. I would be cautious pushing the maggie too high and taping will not help our heat soak problem one bit. you do have meth though, hope it's going well today

She ran 169.2 this morning. Taped her up 100% and AIT was 145, pulled timing down to 16 she still ran 169.7. Removed some tape, took the catback off, and turned the meth up. Ran 166.9 friends said we had a big head wind on the run. I will put the catback back on and make one more run in the morning.

Very cool! I'd love to do something like that some day. We don't have enough "out in the middle of nowhere" space here in the Mid Atlantic area!

This is the most fun I've had at a car event. Everyone is nice, and really no shady looking people except me!!!

X2? I heard they covered the car up so nobody could see the damage.

The guy in the lambo pretty much walked away...not bad for wrecking at 235mph I've seen pictures but no videos yet that show the wreck.

There's an organization that holds events near I-95 about the mid-point between New York and Miami.

Here's their site.... http://www.ecta-lsr.com/

The next event is next weekend.

Congrats on the 169!
The driver is fine and the Lambo is not!

The Cross wind got him...and the driver was not the "best"...

is there a listing of what various cars will run in a mile event? it would be a good way to compare.

Would like to thank Futral Motorsports for help on my CTS-V. She ran flawless at the Texas Mile. Great tuning and advice.
