I have no standing mile experience at all, but I'm curious why you say taping won't help much? I mean, I wouldn't expect it to make his speed jump 10mph or something like that, but I would think smoothing out the aerodynamics would make a measureable difference.

when they taped the cars up in the salt flats top gear episode (zr1, cts-v and srt8 challenger) they all had significant pick-up. I would be cautious pushing the maggie too high and taping will not help our heat soak problem one bit. you do have meth though, hope it's going well today

She ran 169.2 this morning. Taped her up 100% and AIT was 145, pulled timing down to 16 she still ran 169.7. Removed some tape, took the catback off, and turned the meth up. Ran 166.9 friends said we had a big head wind on the run. I will put the catback back on and make one more run in the morning.
