Default What parts wear out in the front end??

As you guys know from my other threads, I've been in a maintenance kick and I'm now wondering what parts in the front end I should need to replace under usual maintenance at 112k miles. I'm referring to bushings, tie rod ends, endlinks, ball joints... Whatever? I just want to make sure everything under there is fresh and tight.

Any particular things I should need to replace at this mileage?

Thanks again in advance!

If it aint broke dont fix it is my motto lol. My luck lately has been, do something unnecessary and it comes back to kick you in the ***. So lets just say i wont be doing **** until i have to.

Lol! Good point! Nothing is broken thank god! I'd just imagine though that 112k miles would put some wear and tear on the bushings and stuff up there and thought it might not be a bad idea to replace/upgrade that stuff.

112k...i would check the motor mounts, unless they have already been replace. and it that case nevermind, haha.

my mounts had 33322 miles on them, and they were FUCKED.

I'm at 95k on my V and I throw that car around a lot! Everything is still tight. I did pads and rotors the other day and thought the front right wheel bearing made a little noise. It didn't have any slop in it but just didnt sound right so I replaced both front hubs with new ones I had bought a while back. Well, the new passengers side I put on makes more noise than the one that has 95k miles! I'm gonna take it off and put the old one back on.

Prime example of,"if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!"

I would think everything 'rubber' would need replacing on this car... at 16,000 miles the shifter bushings were shot already... the motor mounts soon followed.

My mounts must have been changed because they appear to be in good shape. I guess I'll just dive under there and take a close look at everything else. Maybe I'm just **** but it seems like on abrupt bumps, I can feel a tiny bit of play up there. But then again, maybe it's my imagination... Lol

I've found control arm bushings do a great job at restoring the "new" feel to the suspension in other cars. Just don't replace them with poly. They'll start squeaking after a couple months, especially if it's cold.

Good suggestion. I'll take a look at mine and see how they look. I've always been told poly is best for durability but I don't want any squeaks. That would suck!

If you found poly suspension bushings for the first gen V, you'd probably have several interested parties.
