Anyone tried a 295/35/18 rear tire on stock V wheels?

I know tire manufacturers have rim width suggestions which is obviously the reason why our cars come stock with 245/45's on all 4 corners but... the 275/40/18's on the rear are not stretching the limits on the rim at all. They fit nice without any strain. I've run 315/35's on a 9" rim before without any issues but that was on an old mustang i had. I'm sure running a wide tire like that on the track would be a bad idea but on the street, the car is simply cruising from a to b. Im not pulling any serious g's in corners or anything.
Also, if you are going for looks, then putting the 295s on an 8.5" wide wheel will cause a ton of sidewall bulging, which looks stupid IMO.

Tweeter, I wouldn't put it on if it bulged too bad. That's why I made this thread to get info on it first. My other buddy is running a 285/40, 255/40 combo on his V with no issues. That's what made me think the 295/35 would prob fit fine as well.
Maybe I will stick with the 275/40, 245/45 combo. Or maybe the 275/35, 245/40 combo.
Wish I could see some pics of 275/35, 245/40's on a lowered or ever stock height V.

If you look through old threads on the cadillacforums you should be able to find a ton of pix of Vs with the 275/35 and 245/40 combo with all different kinds of tires.

Ok, I'll stick with the 275/245 setup. I suppose that's prob best anyway because my Goodyear 275's (even though they run bigger than usual) rub slightly on inclines. Not hard... Just enough to take the armorall off the edge of the tire so I can tell it's touched inside the rear fender. Anything bigger than those and I'd definitely have to roll my fender lips.

295/ 35 18 99y and 265/40 17 fronts 96y on one piece ssr rims all brand new
Thanks for the help man! I'll check out Dallas craigslist. I haven't found anything I want here on the Houston craigslist for tires.
Do goodyears run the biggest compared to other brands in the same size? I know nittos tend to be slightly smaller/narrow compared to most other brands.
